The Platform Design and Research team at Coinbase plays a critical role in executing on our vision to create more economic freedom for the world and sits at the center of building products across the company. We design the core platforms and internal tools that accelerate product development and operations across Coinbase, and we're building the most secure, trusted, and easy-to-use experiences for the teams that build on top of our platform.

You'll join our Infra pillar, partnering closely with engineering leadership to bring design rigor to the internal tools and dashboards Coinbase teams rely on every day, from configuration and deployment tooling to observability and operational dashboards.

As a Senior Product Designer, you'll independently define the problem space for these often-ambiguous, engineer-facing tools, using research and usage data to shape a roadmap that doesn't yet exist, and lead design end-to-end from discovery through launch.

What you’ll do:

  • Contribute to the overall direction and decision-making for product and design strategy across Coinbase’s infrastructure tools.
  • Design high-quality UI and interaction patterns for data-intensive, workflow-heavy enterprise tools, including visual workflow builders, configuration management systems, and real-time dashboards.
  • Own end-to-end design for development release-pipeline, giving engineers visibility into where their code sits on the path to production.
  • Design the Engineering Standards Scorecard, turning 100+ standards spanning reliability, security, and paved-path adoption into a clear, trustworthy view for ICs, directors, and VPs.
  • Run iterative design cycles: ideate, prototype, test with internal users and refine based on qualitative feedback and operational data.
  • Partner with Eng leadership and standards owners across Coinbase orgs to define a shared service-catalog data model and ingestion approach.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 7+ years of professional product design experience, including owning end-to-end flows from discovery through launch.
  • Track record designing enterprise solutions for complex workflows, ideally used by both technical and non-technical users.
  • Excellence in UX thinking, systems design, and ability to influence product strategy and roadmap in close partnership with Product and Engineering.
  • Sharp attention to detail and mastery of your craft: visual design, interaction design, and prototyping.
  • Strong cross-functional communication and stakeholder management experience.
  • Experience designing for technical, engineer-facing, or data-heavy systems, such as internal tools, dev platforms, or governance and compliance tooling.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment.
  • Fluency in Figma and modern prototyping tools, including using AI tools to explore, prototype, or ship faster.
  • Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
