Senior Product Manager, Risk

As a Senior Product Manager on the Risk team within the Consumer & Business group, you'll own the product strategy and roadmap for how Coinbase detects, prevents, and responds to fraud, account takeover, and scam risk across our platform. This team builds the products and risk controls that protect millions of customers and billions in assets. You'll partner with Engineering, Data Science, and Risk Analytics to ship products that stay ahead of evolving threats while keeping the customer experience fast and frictionless.

What you'll do:

  • Own the product roadmap for one or more risk domains (e.g., ATO prevention, scam detection, payment fraud), defining the vision, priorities, and success metrics that reduce customer losses and improve detection accuracy
  • Drive cross-functional execution with Engineering, Data Science, and Design to ship risk products from concept through launch, making trade-offs between speed, coverage, and user experience
  • Partner with Risk Analytics and ML teams to translate fraud signals, model outputs, and emerging threat patterns into product requirements and control strategies
  • Lead experimentation and measurement of risk interventions, using data to quantify impact on fraud rates, false positive rates, and customer friction
  • Shape the long-term risk product strategy by analyzing industry trends, regulatory shifts, and crypto-specific threat vectors to keep Coinbase ahead of adversaries

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 7+ years of product management experience, with at least 3 years focused on risk, fraud, trust and safety, or payments in a consumer fintech or e-commerce environment
  • Proven track record shipping risk or fraud products that measurably reduced loss rates, improved detection precision, or scaled risk controls across multiple product surfaces
  • Deep fluency in data-driven decision-making, including defining metrics, running experiments, and interpreting ML model performance to inform product direction
  • Experience partnering with engineering and data science teams to build and iterate on real-time risk systems, rules engines, or ML-powered detection pipelines
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex risk trade-offs to senior leadership, translating technical fraud concepts into clear business impact narratives
  • Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
