About the role

CoreWeave's customers train and serve some of the most valuable models in the world, and they need to trust the platform underneath them. As a Senior Specialist Field Engineer for Security, you'll help those customers design for isolation, identity, and compliance on large GPU clusters, from the hardware up through Kubernetes. You'll work closely with the product, engineering, and security teams, and what you learn in the field will help shape what they build.

In this role, you will:

  • Design security architectures for complex customers, including the threat model, the trust boundaries, and the risks that remain.
  • Trace isolation and identity problems across hardware, firmware, the Linux kernel, the network, and Kubernetes.
  • Find where the product falls short for real customers and help the engineering teams fill those gaps.
  • Lead customer technical overviews, security reviews, proofs of concept, and customer workshops, with occasional travel.

Who You Are:

  • B.S. in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years building or securing large-scale infrastructure, as a security, platform, or software engineer, or in a deeply technical security-focused field role.
  • Deep understanding of Kubernetes security: RBAC design and escalation paths, admission policy (OPA or Kyverno), network policy (Cilium or Calico), and pod security.
  • Solid working knowledge of identity: OIDC, SCIM, and workload identity federation, and how to trace an identity from the IdP to a running workload.
  • Hands-on experience with network isolation: VPCs, private interconnects, egress controls, and zero-trust designs.
  • Understanding of image and artifact supply chain security: signing, provenance, SBOMs, and FIPS-validated cryptography.
  • Able to lead incident response, including assessing the blast radius of a new vulnerability before a playbook exists.
  • Able to explain technical problems clearly to engineers and executives, building trust with customers.

Preferred:

  • Experience threat modeling real systems and mapping controls to compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, or FedRAMP.
  • Confidential computing and attestation: TEEs, NVIDIA Confidential Computing, and proving a trust chain from hardware to workload.
  • Linux kernel security primitives and runtime detection with tools like Falco or Tetragon.
  • Hardware and firmware security: DPUs, GPUs, secure boot, and supply chain integrity.
  • Contributions to security open source or published work on threat modeling, isolation, or cloud security.

You'll fit here if...

  • You'd rather trace the trust chain yourself than take the diagram's word for it.
  • You're comfortable saying "I don't know yet," and then you go find out.
  • You like working on a hard problem alongside the customer and the engineering team, and you share the credit.

Wondering if you're a good fit?

We believe in investing in our people, and value candidates who bring their own experiences to our teams - even if you aren't a 100% skill or experience match. If some of this describes you, we'd love to talk.
