As Legal Counsel, Intellectual Property, you will advise the business on a wide range of intellectual property (IP) matters across CoreWeave’s AI cloud platform, software products, and data center infrastructure, from licensing and AI-related IP questions to our patent, trademark, and open source programs. If you thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, enjoy solving complex problems, and are eager to make a significant impact, CoreWeave is the place for you.

About the role:

Reporting to the Managing Director & Associate General Counsel, Technology, IP & Product, you will help protect and grow CoreWeave’s IP portfolio and negotiate the IP terms that underpin our customer, vendor, partnership, and strategic agreements. You will also build the policies, playbooks and templates that let the business move quickly while managing IP risk. You will partner closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing and Commercial teams, as well as legal colleagues across multiple functions.

In this Role You Will:

  • Manage CoreWeave's trademark and domain name portfolio, including clearance searches, product and feature naming review, and direction of outside counsel on filings and prosecution in the US and internationally
  • Monitor for infringement and handle brand protection and enforcement, including cease-and-desist letters, platform takedowns, and responses to third-party notices
  • Draft, negotiate, and review marketing, events, and brand agreements, including production agreements, sponsorship agreements, attendee agreements, content waivers and releases, and co-branding deals
  • Review marketing, advertising, and communications materials for IP, advertising, and other legal risk
  • Develop and maintain IP playbooks, templates, and intake processes, and train marketing, brand, and HR partners on IP best practices
  • Support the broader IP team as needs arise, such as invention disclosure intake, subpoena intake and triage, and litigation coordination with internal teams

Who You Are:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Admitted to practice law, with an active bar membership in at least one US state
  • At least 4 years of IP practice experience with a law firm, in-house role, or government agency (or a combination), with meaningful trademark and/or commercial IP experience
  • Strong working knowledge of US trademark law and general knowledge of patent and copyright law
  • Experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, ideally marketing, events, media, or brand-related
  • Ability to manage a high volume of matters, prioritize across multiple stakeholders, and know when to escalate
  • Organized and process-minded, with experience tracking deadlines across many parallel matters and comfort using AI and workflow tools to scale legal work
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills, including with non-lawyer partners in marketing, HR, product and engineering

Preferred:

  • Experience in-house at a technology company, or with software and/or cloud computing business models
  • Experience with international trademark prosecution and enforcement, including EU/UK
  • Exposure to subpoena response, discovery, or litigation support
  • Experience at a high-growth or recently public technology company
  • Undergraduate or advanced degree in a technical field
