 About the Opportunity

Cribl is looking for a Senior Staff Technical Marketing Engineer to join our Marketing team. You will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between our product and engineering teams and marketing efforts. Your deep technical product knowledge, combined with marketing acumen, will be instrumental in driving the success of our products in the market. You will be responsible for creating compelling technical content, creating new ways of demonstrating product capabilities and differentiation to key audience personas, and providing insights to shape product development and marketing strategies. The TME team helps sell and market current products by producing compelling written guides and videos and by crafting demo environments for sales and customers to use and experience. We help customers maximize their use of the product as we explain and demonstrate the compelling things that differentiate Cribl in the industry. 

Responsibilities

  • Create new ways for customers/prospects to get hands-on experience Cribl products
  • Possess and further acquire deep implementation level, hands-on technical knowledge of enterprise software and technologies. Use that knowledge to understand customer needs and market trends to develop holistic, competitively well-positioned, technically sound technical assets.
  • Perform competitive product testing to validate fact vs. fiction and produce incisive but honest competitive briefs about competing and complementary products
  • Create whitepapers and blogs for Cribl technology and solutions, as well as application notes and implementation guides to help drive our solutions in the market.
  • Contribute to marketing requirements, product specification, and product design reviews with Product Management and Engineering, providing valuable real-world, hands-on insight
  • Develop and deliver technical assets on products, features, and technologies for internal and external use
  • Act as a Technical Lead for Marketing at all tradeshow events, overseeing demos, presentations as well as the technical equipment required
  • Create and maintain real-world technical environments consistent with the environments our customers use
  • This position will likely require 40-50% travel to attend conferences, marketing events, etc.
  • This position may require stand-by, on-call, or off-hours duties.

What You’ll Bring

  • A detailed understanding of advanced networking and system architecture concepts (Event-driven architecture experience a plus)
  • Experience and proficiency with containers using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Advanced experience with AWS and working knowledge of Azure and Google Cloud Platform
  • Advanced expertise in at least one of the following coding languages: Python, NodeJS, Go (Golang), or TypeScript
  • Experience and proficiency with Javascript and Regex
  • Experience with code versioning and CI/CD solutions from Github and Bitbucket
  • Proficiency with automation tools like Terraform, Ansible or other config management tools
  • Familiarity with commonly used Search languages such as Kusto, Splunk SPL, Elastic/Kibana/OpenSearch Query DSL, 
  • Experience with metrics-driven products like Loki/Grafana or Datadog
  • Experience with SIEM products like Splunk, CrowdStrike, Wiz, Sentinel One
  • A self-driven attitude, thirst for learning, and ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities
  • The ability to work in a high-stress environment at times with tight deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide examples of previous work
  • Excellent presentation and public speaking skills

Preferred skills:

  • 10 to 15 years in the software field as a technical marketing engineer, sales engineer, systems administrator, system engineer, SRE/SWE, or support engineer.
  • 7+ years of experience in the observability software space.

 

Salary Range ($159,800 - $190,000). The salary for this role is dependent on geographic location. The salary offered within the range described will be based on the individual candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.  In addition to a competitive salary, Cribl also offers a generous benefits package which includes health, dental, vision, short-term disability, and life insurance, paid holidays and paid time off, a fertility treatment benefit, 401(k), equity, and eligibility for a discretionary company-wide bonus.
