Summary 

Cypress Creek Energy is seeking a highly motivated candidate to monitor the daily operation of a rapidly growing portfolio of utility-scale PV plants. The Control Center Operator will perform continuous real-time monitoring and control of Solar Facility performance, energy yield, and output.  The candidate will be trained in the essential knowledge and skills necessary to monitor and operate utility-scale solar generation facilities.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Complete initial operator training program designed to prepare candidates to independently perform remote monitoring and operation of solar facilities.
  • Closely monitor the day-to-day operation of numerous 2MW to 100MW solar projects.
  • Respond to DAS Alerts, SCADA Alarms, and abnormal facility conditions by alerting appropriate parties.
  • Act as point of contact for field technicians, remote plant operators, utilities, and transmission operators regarding performance, control, and schedules for solar facilities.
  • Responsible for maintaining availability levels at each solar facility as well as following curtailment directives.
  • Perform daily reporting of solar facility performance.
  • Data analysis of underperforming systems.
  • Aid field technicians with system troubleshooting and providing routine dispatch.

 Preferred Education and/or Work Experience:

  • BS in a technical field of study, Engineering preferred
  • Knowledge of power generation design or operations
  • Knowledge of PV systems, including DC systems, AC medium voltage systems, and network communications and monitoring
  • Diagnostic capabilities to troubleshoot and correct problems found via DAS/SCADA
  • Ability to read and understand electrical single-line and three-line diagrams
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite
  • Experience working with a CMMS platform (preferably for power generation facility)
  • Experience working with DAS and/or SCADA systems

 Other Requirements/Work Environment:

  • Work is to be performed in an office environment
  • After the initial training phase, this position will perform a 12-hour shift schedule and candidate is expected to be available holidays/weekends as required.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to obtain unescorted access for NERC/CIP facilities
