Datavant is looking for an enthusiastic and meticulous junior Data Scientist to join our growing team. In this role, you will work with large, complex healthcare datasets to play a critical role in mitigating the disclosure risk of these datasets. You will collaborate closely with teams across the company, translating privacy requirements into data queries.

As part of the team, you will develop your skills in querying and manipulating large-scale datasets, primarily using SQL and Python, while working cross-functionally with stakeholders across privacy data science, engineering, product, and business teams. You will be supported in growing your technical skill set as you take on increasing responsibility.

You Will:

  • Query, manipulate, and modify large datasets using SQL and Python
  • Work extensively within Snowflake to build queries, transformations, and data pipelines
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity through careful validation and quality checks

What You Will Bring to the Table:

  • Proficiency in SQL for querying, joining, and manipulating large datasets
  • Experience with Python for data analysis and manipulation
  • Critical hands-on experience with Snowflake or a similar cloud data warehouse
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to a range of audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and build relationships across teams
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines
  • Initiative and a desire to independently learn new tools, techniques, and concepts
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS
  • Bonus: Experience with version control (e.g., Git)
