What You'll Do

You are someone who…

  • Partners with Finance, Accounting, and Capital Markets teams to build auditable, automated reporting systems, datasets, and visualizations
  • Builds and owns data models that are accurate and simple, with a focus on close processes, FP&A workflows, and asset and revenue reporting
  • Demonstrates pride, ownership, and accountability for your work, and expect the same from those you work with
  • Shares opinions openly on what's working and what's not across the product, tech stack, and team processes
  • Seeks feedback early and often in the development process
  • Identifies speed vs quality tradeoffs and balances them judiciously
  • Believes diverse teams make better decisions, and actively fosters a culture where every person can do their best work

The Skills and Experience You'll Bring

  • 7+ years of combined experience in Data Engineering and/or Accounting or Finance, including at least 4 years in a Data Engineering role focused on building and maintaining analytical or product datasets
  • Experience with FP&A processes, close workflows, and financial reporting
  • Familiarity with GAAP vs. non-GAAP reporting and revenue recognition concepts
  • Track record of enabling teams to make decisions using data
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, data warehousing concepts and technologies (e.g. Snowflake), and data modeling concepts and tools (e.g. DBT)
  • Experience in designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and data ingestion processes, including handling sensitive financial records
  • Experience with implementing monitoring and alerting for data pipelines
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Accounting, a related field, or equivalent experience

We'd be Extra Excited if You Have

  • Experience with double-entry accounting
  • Experience with asset-based lending
  • Experience with marketplaces
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS) and their data services (e.g. S3, Lambda)
  • Proficiency in Python (or similar Object-Oriented Programming)

For Washington-based candidates, in compliance with the Washington State Pay Transparency Law, the salary range for this role is $170,000.00 - $230,000.00 + target bonus.  DAT considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education and training, core skills, internal equity, and market and business elements when extending an offer.
