Senior Accountant, Corporate Equity and Capital Reporting
DigitalBridge Group, Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Corporate Equity and Capital Reporting team. This role is primarily responsible for the accounting, reporting and administration of the company’s long-term incentive programs, including management investment entities as well as the employee equity compensation plan.
The Senior Accountant will work closely with the Vice President of Corporate Equity and Capital Reporting and collaborate cross-functionally with teams across the organization. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting skills, a solid understanding of equity compensation plans, a comprehensive understanding of fund structures and distribution waterfalls and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting and Reporting for GP and Management Investment Entities:
· Oversee all aspects of accounting and financial reporting for General Partner (GP) and management investment entities. Maintain detailed reconciliations and roll-forward schedules for investment and equity accounts.
· Demonstrate understanding of intercompany transactions, consolidation and elimination entries, and multi-entity structures.
· Responsibilities include tracking and reporting capital activities, reviewing bank reconciliations, calculating carried interest allocations and accounting for equity method investments.
· Ensure accurate and timely preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules related to carried interest, incentive compensation and equity-based awards.
· Assist in the preparation and analysis of quarterly and annual financial statements and in accordance with GAAP. Reconcile supporting documentation to the general ledger and perform variance (flux) analyses to explain significant changes.
· Prepare and assist with the preparation of financial statement disclosures for quarterly (10-Q) and annual (10-K) SEC filings.
· Manage the full accounting cycle to ensure compliance with monthly and quarterly reporting deadlines.
Capital Activities and Fund Administration:
· Gain exposure to investment accounting at both the General Partner (GP) and Fund levels across various investment vehicles managed by the company.
· Apply understanding of fund structures, including capital commitments, capital calls, distributions, and NAV calculations. Perform and review distribution waterfall calculations to ensure accurate promote allocations in accordance with fund agreements.
· Prepare and review capital activity transactions related to capital calls and distributions received from fund administrators. Develop and update capital call and distribution models, prepare formal notices, and perform liquidation analyses for winding down entities tied to resolved investments.
Financial & Partner-Level Reporting:
· Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages, including unaudited financial statements and detailed partner capital summaries.
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date partner records and assist in responding to investor inquiries and ad hoc requests.
Equity Plan Administration:
· Support the administration of the company’s equity compensation plans, including tracking of grants, exercises, forfeitures, and vesting schedules, including financial reporting and analysis.
· Collaborate with internal departments such as Legal, HR, and Payroll to ensure compliance with plan documents and regulatory requirements.
Tax Coordination:
· Assist with analyzing and addressing partnership taxation matters as they relate to incentive programs and investment structures.
· Liaise with the tax department to support tax reporting, including information required for Schedule K-1 and corporate income tax returns and partner withholding tax analysis.
Process Improvement, Documentation and Special Projects:
· Participate in ad hoc projects and process improvement initiatives within the Corporate Equity and Capital Reporting function.
· Ensure compliance with internal controls and assist with audit and SOX-related documentation and testing.
· Assist with other special analyses, projects and financial modeling as needed.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is strongly preferred.
· 3–5 years of relevant experience in public accounting and/or corporate accounting, with exposure to equity compensation and investment and/or fund accounting.
· Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, especially in areas related to equity-based compensation and consolidation accounting.
· Familiarity with partnership accounting and taxation a plus.
· Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
· Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, with a collaborative mindset.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with Yardi is a strong plus.
