Principal Product Manager, Agentic AI Infrastructure

Seattle

Dive in and do the best work of your career at DigitalOcean. Journey alongside a strong community of top talent who are relentless in their drive to build the simplest scalable cloud. If you have a growth mindset, naturally like to think big and bold, and are energized by the fast-paced environment of a true industry disruptor, you’ll find your place here.  We value winning together—while learning, having fun, and making a profound difference for the dreamers and builders in the world.

Are you passionate about building the next generation of infrastructure for the future 100 million developers? Are you excited to define the products that AI-native companies will use to build, scale, and operate agents in production?

DigitalOcean is entering a pivotal moment as we build infrastructure for the agentic future. Agents will change how software is built, deployed, operated, and scaled. Developers will need infrastructure that lets them move from local development to cloud execution, from short-running tasks to long-horizon workflows, and from experimental prototypes to reliable production systems.

We are looking for a Principal Product Manager for Agentic AI Infrastructure to define and own the product strategy for a new generation of managed agent infrastructure products. This role will shape one or more products like Open Harness Server, Code Execution Sandbox, Action Gateway, and related services that make it simple for developers to run, scale, secure, resume, and operate agents in the cloud.

This is a rare opportunity to help define a new product category at DigitalOcean and build the infrastructure layer that agent-native companies will depend on.

What You’ll Do

  1. Define the Agentic AI infrastructure product strategy: Own the product vision, roadmap, and execution plan for DigitalOcean’s managed agent infrastructure products.
  2. Build foundational agent infrastructure products: Lead product definition for services such as Open Harness Server, Code Execution Sandbox, Action Gateway, tool execution, session management, agent runtime APIs, and related developer experiences.
  3. Work backwards from agent-native customers: Partner directly with companies building coding agents, productivity agents, workflow agents, and custom AI systems to understand the infrastructure they need to move from prototype to production.
  4. Create simple abstractions for complex workloads: Define product experiences that make it easy for developers to run long-lived agents, fork sessions, resume work, attach tools, manage credentials, execute code safely, and observe agent behavior.
  5. Shape the developer experience: Build intuitive APIs, CLIs, docs, examples, and workflows that let developers bring their existing harnesses and agent frameworks to DigitalOcean with minimal friction.
  6. Partner with engineering on architecture and tradeoffs: Work closely with engineering leaders to translate customer needs into product requirements across MicroVMs, sandboxing, tool execution, identity, state management, observability, security, and scale.
  7. Launch new products and SKUs: Partner with GTM, finance, and engineering to define packaging, pricing, beta programs, launch plans, and adoption motions for agentic infrastructure services.
  8. Drive operational and business outcomes: Establish product metrics around adoption, retention, usage, reliability, workload scale, gross margin, developer satisfaction, and revenue growth.
  9. Evangelize the category: Help DigitalOcean explain why agents need a new infrastructure layer and how our products help developers build, test, deploy, and operate agents with confidence.

What You’ll Bring

  1. Strong product leadership in infrastructure or developer platforms: Experience building cloud infrastructure, developer tools, ML platforms, runtime systems, workflow engines, security products, or API-first platforms.
  2. Fluency in agentic AI systems: Understanding of how agents use tools, execute code, manage context, call APIs, operate across long-running sessions, and interact with external systems.
  3. Technical depth in cloud primitives: Familiarity with areas such as containers, MicroVMs, sandboxing, identity and access management, stateful workloads, distributed systems, observability, and secure execution environments.
  4. Customer-backed product instincts: Ability to work with early, demanding customers and turn ambiguous feedback into clear product direction, roadmap priorities, and launchable capabilities.
  5. Strong systems thinking: You can reason across user experience, platform architecture, security, reliability, pricing, and operational complexity.
  6. Developer empathy: You understand what developers need to adopt a platform quickly: simple APIs, clear mental models, fast onboarding, trustworthy docs, and products that work without unnecessary ceremony.
  7. Business judgment: You can connect product investments to revenue, adoption, margin, differentiation, and long-term platform strategy.
  8. Executive communication and influence: You can align engineering, design, GTM, finance, legal, security, and executive stakeholders around a clear product strategy.
  9. Category-building mindset: You are excited to operate in an emerging market where the primitives are still being defined and where product leadership requires both conviction and customer-driven iteration.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
