As a Software Engineer, AI at DigitalOcean, you will join our dynamic AI team within Cloudways, dedicated to integrating cutting-edge AI capabilities into our managed hosting platform. You will report to the AI Engineering Manager and work cross-functionally with platform engineers, product managers, and infrastructure teams. In this role, you'll own the design and implementation of AI-powered features that simplify complex cloud operations, drive automation, and enhance developer experience. The ideal person will be a self-motivated engineer with 3-5 years of experience, capable of working independently on end-to-end AI solutions.

What You'll Do:

  • Agentic AI development - Build agents that automate workflows
  • MCP integration - Connect AI agents to existing Cloudways services
  • Existing Agent improvements - AI-driven automation, anomaly detection and improvement
  • Python & PHP - Write production code in both languages
  • Service integration - Work with databases, APIs, and backend systems
  • Basic AI concepts - Prompt engineering, RAG, function calling
  • Cross-team collaboration - Work with product, infra, and other dev teams
