Senior Software Development Engineer - UI/UX

United States

At Dragos, the mission is personal. The systems we protect deliver the water you drink, power your home, and keep the hospitals your community depends on running. Those critical infrastructure systems that power our civilization around the world are under attack every day by adversaries. When those systems fail, people are immediately at risk. We are the global leader in xOT cybersecurity, combining technology, threat intelligence, and expert services. The people here chose this work because they understand what is at stake. Here, you will find a remote-first mission-driven team across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and APAC built on authenticity, transparency, and trust. If safeguarding the systems that protect your family, friends, and community is the kind of work that matters to you, you are in the right place.

About the Role

We are growing the engineering team behind Dragos Software and Supply Chain Security product. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will build and run the web application, the GraphQL and gRPC APIs behind it, and the SDKs customers build on, so security teams and integrators can see which risks in their devices are actually exploitable.

This position reports to the Senior Director of Engineering, and our engineers work together by shipping code, troubleshooting problems, and listening to customers. You will own the production code you ship, work with real-time security data at scale, and turn dense binary-analysis output into something a security team can read under pressure.

What You'll Do

  • Build and ship features across the React and TypeScript frontend and the GraphQL and gRPC APIs behind it, from scoping through design, implementation, and deployment
  • Design and implement GraphQL schema and protobuf/gRPC contract changes with versioning and schema evolution, so existing customers and integrators keep working
  • Build and maintain client SDKs in Python, TypeScript, and Go, including the codegen pipelines, semantic versioning, and release automation that keep them in sync with the API
  • Define the contracts between your work and the backend team (mostly Go services), and work with Product and Design to turn customer needs into features
  • Improve frontend performance, accessibility, and observability in the code you own, write well-tested and secure code, and give constructive code reviews

You Should Have

  • 5+ years of professional experience building production web applications and the APIs behind them, taking work from idea to delivery with Product, Design, and Engineering. Equivalent experience is equally valued
  • React (hooks, Context, lazy loading, large component architectures) and TypeScript, with modern front-end tooling such as testing frameworks, state management, and build tools
  • GraphQL with Apollo Client and Apollo Server on Node.js, and gRPC with Protocol Buffers (client consumption at minimum, service design a plus)
  • Hands-on API design, versioning, and schema evolution, plus building and maintaining client SDKs in multiple languages (such as Python, TypeScript, and Go) with codegen, semantic versioning, and release automation
  • Auth0, OAuth 2.0, and JWT flows

You May Have

  • Data-heavy UIs, such as grids, charts, and virtualization, or shared UI component libraries and design systems
  • PostgreSQL (query patterns and data modeling), GCP (Cloud Run, GCS), and Protobuf schema design with buf tooling
  • OpenTelemetry, CI/CD with GitLab, feature flag systems such as OpenFeature, and Terraform
  • Cybersecurity, OT, or ICS experience, or SBOM knowledge (CycloneDX, SPDX, CVE)
  • Responsible use of AI-assisted development tools, and experience driving technical initiatives or improving engineering practices across teams

Compensation:

  • Salary:  $165,000
  • Competitive Equity Package
  • Comprehensive Benefits Plan
