Position Overview
EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc., PBC has an exciting opportunity for a Scientist II to join our team in Barrigada, Guam. This position offers a unique blend of office-based responsibilities and fieldwork, supporting a wide variety of environmental compliance and natural resource projects. As a Scientist II, you will support senior staff in delivering high-quality environmental services to a broad client base. You’ll contribute to a variety of projects including environmental investigations, regulatory compliance, and ecological monitoring. You will have the opportunity to expand your skills through mentoring, formal training, and hands-on experience in both field and office settings.
Responsibilities

Assist in preparation of project documents and technical reports

Plan, coordinate, and lead field activities

Collect, evaluate, and manage environmental data

Support environmental compliance projects related to:
-
Threatened and endangered species surveys
-
Habitat assessments and management
-
Ecological monitoring
-
Flora and fauna surveys
-
Wetland delineation and assessments
-
Stormwater, wastewater, and drinking water compliance
-
Solid waste compliance and investigation/remediation support
-
Plant nursery maintenance
-
Document control and organization
-
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Horticulture, or a related scientific field

2 to 5 years of relevant experience

Familiarity with Pacific region ecosystems and coastal environmental conditions is preferred

Strong verbal and written communication skills
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat

Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams

Comfortable working outdoors in hot, humid, and challenging field conditions
-
Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability, and willingness to learn
-
High attention to detail in fieldwork, data collection, and reporting

Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain access to military installations
Desired Qualifications
• Natural Resource experience on Guam or the CNMI with experience in wildlife and plant identification, plant propagation, and threatened and endangered species identification and surveys preferred
• Horticulture experience, including plant propagation is preferred
• Experience using GIS and handheld GPS units is preferred
• First Aid/CPR Training and 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Training is a plus
Note: This position requires specific driving duties. You must be able to pass a motor vehicle records check required by our insurer.
