Title: Senior Security Operations Manager, Americas (Multi-Site)

The Senior Security Operations Manager, Americas is a key regional role responsible for physical security operations across EdgeConneX data centers throughout North and South America. The role provides direct oversight of all regional security activity, with a focus on consistency, vendor performance, incident response, and audit readiness. It also supports select global security initiatives as needed.

You’ll oversee security vendors, systems, compliance, and daily operations, serving as the primary contact for both internal stakeholders and external partners across the region. This position can be based in the following locations: Herndon, VA, Denver, Colorado, Austin, TX, Houston, TX, Chicago, IL, Phoenix, AZ, or New Albany, NY and reports to the Vice President, Global Security & Safety and works closely with Operations, Real Estate, Property Management, Legal, and Customer Service teams.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day physical security operations across all sites in the Americas, ensuring 24/7 coverage and alignment with EdgeConneX standards.
  • Manage third-party guard force performance, including oversight of post orders, scheduling coverage, training standards, and adherence to SLAs and KPIs.
  • Own the regional security operations budget and track expenditures.
  • Maintain hands-on oversight of physical security systems, with working knowledge of S2, Lenel, and Genetec platforms.
  • Ensure preparedness and successful completion of internal, customer, and regulatory audits.
  • Lead or support responses to escalated incidents, security breaches, and emergency events.
  • Develop and maintain annual security plans, covering systems, procedures, and training.
  • Monitor and report on vendor performance, audit results, and incident trends; lead corrective actions and process improvements.
  • Serve as a customer-facing leader for physical security, supporting SLAs, site tours, and due diligence activities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across regions to align global security standards, develop policies, and share best practices.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local law enforcement and emergency services.
  • Contribute to or lead business continuity and crisis response efforts as needed.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong written and verbal communication; able to lead teams and coordinate across disciplines to resolve issues and drive results.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and operational demands simultaneously.
  • Reliable, deadline-driven, and comfortable managing shifting priorities.
  • Collaborative and solutions-focused; able to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • High attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership in reporting and documentation.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a hands-on approach to solving operational challenges.
  • Experience leading physical security audits and readiness assessments.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and practices; able to manage scope, resources, and timelines.


Experience/Education

  • 8+ years of experience in physical security operations, including regional or multi-site responsibility.
  • Strong background in data center security, critical infrastructure, or other regulated, mission-critical environments.
  • Proven experience conducting risk and threat assessments at both the strategic and tactical levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply physical security knowledge to support third-party certifications (e.g., PCI/DSS, SOC2, ISO 27001).
  • Hands-on experience with physical security systems such as S2, Genetec, and Lenel.
  • Comfortable managing third-party contracts, statements of work, and vendor performance.
  • Working knowledge of regional security regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience managing service contracts, operating budgets, and project timelines.
  • Ability and willingness to quickly learn new systems and platforms.
  • Candidates possessing industry certifications such as CPP, PSP on top of the required skills and experience are strongly encouraged to apply
  • Willingness to travel regionally (North/South America) up to 25%.

US Salary Range

$110,000 - $130,000 USD
