Senior Associate, Corporate Counsel

London, England, United Kingdom

About the role
We are looking for a Corporate Counsel to join us in London. You will join our Legal team, reporting to the Assistant General Counsel, and provide practical legal support for EquiLend’s sales contracting activity across its global operations. This role will focus on complex financial SaaS, data and technology-related sales contracts, supporting commercial negotiations while helping the business manage legal risk clearly and effectively.

You will work closely with colleagues across Sales, Product, Finance, Legal, Compliance and RevOps, including teams in the UK, US and Asia. This is a broad role suited to a qualified lawyer who can manage competing priorities, work with autonomy and give clear, commercially aware advice on complex and sometimes time-sensitive matters.

What you’ll do

  • Draft, review and negotiate complex SaaS, data, technology and financial services-related commercial contracts.
  • Provide practical legal advice to Sales, Product, Finance and other internal stakeholders on contract terms, negotiation positions and legal risk.
  • Support legal considerations connected to emerging technologies, including Gen AI, data innovation and related product developments.
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance and business colleagues across regions to deliver consistent, high-quality legal support.
  • Collaborate with the Legal Specialist team and RevOps legal support team to improve sales contracting processes and operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to legal knowledge management practices, including templates, playbooks and guidance for repeatable sales contract activity.
  • Manage multiple matters at pace, balancing commercial priorities with sound legal judgement and appropriate risk management.

What we’re looking for

  • 2+ years’ PQE of relevant experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal department, ideally supporting SaaS, data, technology, fintech, financial services or commercial sales contracts.
  • Qualified lawyer with an active license to practice law in England and Wales, and/or another relevant common law jurisdiction (e.g. Ireland)
  • Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills, with the ability to translate business needs into practical legal solutions.
  • Good working knowledge of intellectual property and contract law, with exposure to information security and data privacy considerations preferred.
  • Experience supporting sales contracts or commercial technology agreements in a fast-moving business environment.
  • Clear communication skills, with the confidence to advise stakeholders across Legal, Sales, Product, Finance and other teams.
  • Sound judgement, integrity and a proactive approach to solving legal and business problems.
  • Ability to work autonomously while staying closely aligned with colleagues across a global Legal and Compliance function.
