At EquipmentShare, we’re not just filling a role — we’re assembling the best team on the planet to build something that’s never been built before. We’re on a mission to transform an industry that’s been stuck in the past by empowering contractors and communities through innovative technology, real-time support, and a team that truly cares.

EquipmentShare is searching for a student intern to join the Fleet Sales Team at our Home Office in Columbia, MO for the Fall of 2026 (October – Mid-December).

This internship is designed to give students hands-on experience in equipment rental operations, customer coordination, and process improvement. During the 10–12 week program, the intern will support the Corporate Rentals team by managing rental requests, coordinating with partner companies and internal yard teams, and contributing to a meaningful process improvement project.

Primary Responsibilities

    • Manage rental requests received through a dedicated Slack channel from a re-rent partner company.
    • Coordinate between the partner company and appropriate rental yards to facilitate and manage equipment rentals.
    • Ensure rental details, availability, and scheduling are communicated accurately and efficiently.
    • Maintain consistent communication and follow-up with the partner company and internal yard teams, primarily through email.
    • Review incoming rental quote requests and identify equipment, dates, locations, and other customer requirements.
    • Research equipment availability and coordinate with the appropriate yards to develop accurate rental options.
    • Prepare and communicate timely, accurate quotes based on current availability and pricing.
    • Respond to Quick Quote requests efficiently while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Analyze the SOP for rental quote requests, Quick Quotes, and equipment availability to identify opportunities to improve the speed and accuracy of the quoting process.

Capstone Project: Rental Quote Process Improvement Report

The intern will develop and present a Rental Quote Process Improvement Report that includes:

    • Current Process – How a request moves from initial inquiry to completed rental.
    • Common Issues – Where delays, communication gaps, or availability problems occur.
    • Equipment Demand – Most frequently requested equipment and categories.
    • Response Metrics – Average response and follow-up times.
    • Recommendations – Practical changes to improve efficiency and customer response.
    • Updated Tracking Tool / SOP – A usable tool or documented process the department can continue using after the internship.
