AEO/SEO Manager

Santa Monica, CA

At FIGS, we’re building more than a brand—we’re building a lifelong relationship with the Awesome Humans who inspire us every day.

We’re looking for an AEO/SEO Manager to own organic discovery across traditional SEO and emerging AI platforms: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI overviews, Gemini, and beyond. This is a net-new role requiring both deep technical expertise and exceptional communication skills. This person will shape strategy, build cross-functional alignment, and translate complex search and AI concepts into clear direction for marketing, site, product, and engineering partners. This role is a key driver of organic revenue and brand visibility and will report to the VP of Growth and Integrated Media.

What You’ll Own

  • Own the technical SEO health of the wearfigs.com: crawlability, indexing, site speed, Core Web Vitals, structured data, site mapping, and mobile performance.
  • Lead research into search demandin content gaps, on-page optimization across categories, products, and content pages.
  • Manage internal linking strategy, URL architecture, and any site transitions without traffic interruptions.
  • Work cross-functionally partnering with Narrative to build and maintain content strategies applicable to both AEO and SEO, Eng and Product for technical implementation, and Paid Marketing to understand overlap and impact.
  • Monitor algorithm updates and proactively address changes that might have a future impact on site visibility.
  • Develop and execute a strategy to increase brand/product visibility in AI-generated answers across all LLMs
  • Continue to drive excellence and maintain the FIGS premium position across all LLMs
  • Test and iterate on content formats to continue and develop best practices on how we show up on LLMs
  • Stay current on the evolution of major AI platforms on how they crawl, index, and select sources to create action plans.
  • Manage existing vendor relationships with external SEO/AEO partners and vendors
  • Lead project management across multi-team initiatives: define scope, align stakeholders, track progress, and hold partners accountable to timelines.
  • Build and present performance reports and strategic roadmaps to senior leadership, making data and recommendations accessible to non-technical audiences.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years in SEO with 1-2 years actively working on AEO or AI search visibility
  • Proven track record of growing organic traffic and revenue for e-commerce
  • Strong technical SEO skills: the ability to work directly with product and engineering teams
  • Experience working with LLM concepts and tactical execution

Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 07/31/2029

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
