Senior Director, Pricing Strategy

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Offer & Pricing Strategy Leader with a strong background in pricing to join our team. They will be responsible for developing, managing, and optimizing product and service offerings, with a particular focus on pricing strategies. The ideal candidate will have a keen understanding of market dynamics, competitive positioning, and customer value propositions to drive profitable growth and market share. 

The Offer & Pricing Strategy Leader will work alongside other team members to drive initiatives aimed at increasing company market share, profitability, and customer lifetime value for its product portfolio. This role requires a blend of strategic vision, cross-functional collaboration, and analytical skills to ensure offerings are competitively positioned and contribute to revenue growth and profitability. 

Key Responsibilities: 

1. Offer Development and Management:

  • Develop and manage comprehensive product and service offerings, aligning it with corporate goals and market opportunities.  
  • Create and maintain offer documentation, including product/service descriptions, pricing models, and promotional materials. 
  • Build and manage roadmaps for product and service offerings, incorporating market trends, customer feedback, and business objectives 

2. Pricing Strategy and Execution:

  • Develop and implement pricing strategies to maximize profitability and market share. 
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform pricing decisions and identify opportunities for price optimization. 
  • Lead the development, launch, and lifecycle management of new and existing offerings. 
  • Continuously assess packaging needs, balancing the need for simplicity in pricing with monetization flexibility across customer and geographic segments. 

3. Performance Tracking and Optimization:

  • Perform financial analysis to assess the impact of pricing and offer strategies on revenue and profitability. 
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting key insights and recommendations. 
  • Monitor and analyze pricing performance, making adjustments as needed to achieve financial targets. 
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to pricing and offer performance, ensuring they align with the company’s strategic goals. 
  • Lead the development of customer retention strategies and identify upselling/cross-selling opportunities. 

4. Customer and Market Insights:

  • Conduct market research and customer feedback sessions to understand needs, preferences, and gaps in the current offerings. 
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to understand customer needs and preferences. 
  • Utilize data analytics to assess customer behavior, offering performance, and areas for improvement. 
  • Incorporate knowledge of changing competitive situations and develop strategies for proactively and reactively addressing competitive threats.  

5. Promotion and Discount Management:

  • Develop and manage promotional and discount programs to drive sales and customer acquisition. 
  • Monitor the effectiveness of promotions and discounts  
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements related to pricing and promotions. 

6. Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Partner with Product Management, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and other stakeholders to ensure cohesive and effective offer management. 
  • Provide training and support to Sales and Customer Service teams on pricing and offer-related topics. 

Qualifications: 

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Product Management, or a related field. An MBA is preferred. 

Experience: 10+ years of experience in offer management, product management, or similar roles with SaaS world, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership position. 

Skills: 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. 
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills. 
  • Proven track record of developing and launching successful offerings. 
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams. 
  • Proficiency in pricing software, data analysis tools, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). 
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. 

Key Competencies: 

  • Strategic thinking and a customer-centric approach. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Knowledge of pricing strategies, product development, and lifecycle management. 
  • Leadership skills, with a focus on coaching and developing a high-performing team. 

Work Location: This role is fully remote for candidates who reside outside the 50 mile radius of our San Ramon office.  For candidates who reside within 50 miles of our San Ramon location, this role is Hybrid and would require 3 days a week (M, W, TH) in our San Ramon office.

The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the job across the United States. Additionally, the total compensation package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, stock, and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.

All compensation and benefits are subject to the requirements and restrictions set forth in the applicable plan documents and any written agreements between the parties.

The US base salary range for this role is below.

$136,400 - $366,600 USD
