As part of the Outbound Campaigns team, you will be working on breaking down a monolith and building Five9’s next generation, cutting-edge Modern microservices platform. An ideal candidate for us is an experienced engineering manager who has strong background in software development combined with proven leadership skills to mentor and grow high-performing engineering teams. This team is focused on building high performance scalable microservices with test driven development mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

Be part of the Outbound Campaigns Team, focused on building the next generation outbound campaigns management features in the public multi-cloud and hybrid-cloud solutions.
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
Oversee the design, development, and execution of engineering projects, ensuring quality, timelines, and budget compliance.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers on the team.
Conduct code reviews and ensure high code quality and standards adherence.
Identify technical debt and propose and implement solutions for improvement.
Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in software engineering.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams like Product, Quality, Ops and other development teams to drive technical initiatives forward.
Conduct performance evaluations, set career development goals, and support professional growth for team members.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's degree preferred)
12 + years of experience in designing and developing distributed, and scalable systems, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role
Experience in breaking down monoliths into microservices with an emphasis on resiliency
Proven experience managing and scaling engineering teams.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and modern engineering workflows.
Experience working with cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and scalable architectures is a plus.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Understanding of what it takes to run mission critical software in production.

It is imperative that individuals responsible for the recruiting out of their respective offices, as well as team members in the United States, have the ability to share information and data. Often, this necessity extends beyond the recruiting team, and includes hiring managers as well. The recruiting function, including systems and processes, for Five9 are driven out of the headquarters in the United States with team members in satellite offices across various countries. • The HR Operations team, based in the US, must have access to hiring data from other countries in order to complete Compliance audits. • Our compensation and Benefits team , based in the US, must share and receive data from all offices with respect to job grading and compensation. • The FP&A team, based in the US, provides headcount and must receive offer details to hired employees for reporting purposes. • Our Payroll team, based in the US, must receive and provide data in order to complete payroll activities. • For many of the roles in other countries, the hiring manager is based in the US. They must have access to the resumes for candidates for assessment and access to offer documents for hired candidates for budget purposes. • The CFO must approve all offers and offer information must be shared across offices in order for that action to be satisfied. • The recruiting team needs access to data related to recruiting functions for reporting, process enhancements, data assessments.
