About Zipline
Zipline is the world’s largest and most experienced drone delivery service. We are on a mission to serve all humans equally by ensuring access to food, medicine and essential goods anytime, anywhere. We design, build, and operate the world’s largest autonomous logistics system, delivering critical supplies quickly and reliably. Today, Zipline operates on four continents, makes a delivery somewhere in the world every 30 seconds, and has completed millions of deliveries to date, including blood, vaccines, medical supplies, food, and retail products.
Our customers include the world’s largest and most prominent healthcare systems, governments, retailers, restaurants and global businesses who rely on us to save lives, reduce emissions, increase economic opportunity, and provide delivery from point A to point B as fast as possible. The drone is only 15% of what we’ve built to enable seamless, reliable, global operations.
Our system strengthens supply chains, reduces congestion, and gives people time back. With more than 140 million commercial autonomous miles safely flown, Zipline is redefining access to healthcare, consumer products, and food across the globe.
We operate at a global scale and are looking for practical problem solvers who thrive on real-world challenges and rapid growth. Our team is motivated by building systems that have a direct, meaningful impact on people’s lives and by scaling the future of logistics. We are seeking people who sculpt from first principles, enjoy facing adversity, and can do the impossible at record breaking speeds.
About You and The Role
Zipline’s engineering teams depend on Siemens PLM and CAD applications to design, build, certify, manufacture, maintain, and operate our drone delivery platform. When these systems are unavailable, poorly configured, or difficult to use, engineering work slows and operational risk grows.
You will own the day-to-day application health, administration, and configuration of this ecosystem. You will solve issues at their root, improve how engineers work, and partner with Engineering, IT, Operations, and Siemens to keep critical engineering workflows reliable.
What You'll Do
- Own operational health, availability, administration, and application configuration for Zipline’s Siemens PLM and CAD ecosystem.
- Monitor application health, triage production issues, coordinate recovery, and meet established service expectations for engineering support requests.
- Coordinate directly with Siemens and development partners to resolve issues, track progress, and drive to timely resolutions.
- Investigate recurring incidents through root-cause analysis and deliver preventative fixes that reduce repeat support volume.
- Administer user provisioning, role changes, license allocation, access reviews, and software-license utilization.
- Maintain development, test, and production environments; functionally validate configuration changes before controlled production promotion.
- Coordinate maintenance, patches, and upgrades with users, infrastructure, identity, networking, security, and vendors to minimize disruption.
- Maintain runbooks, knowledge articles, and operating procedures; use support trends to prioritize reliability and workflow improvements.
What You'll Bring
- Experience supporting enterprise engineering applications in a manufacturing or product-development environment.
- Strong understanding of PLM concepts, CAD/CAE workflows, and engineering toolchains.
- Hands-on experience administering Teamcenter and NX, or comparable engineering applications, including user access and configuration management.
- Working knowledge of cloud-based environment management, authentication systems, and enterprise identity-management concepts.
- Experience using ticketing systems, change-management processes, and technical documentation to manage operational work.
- Ability to prioritize concurrent engineering support needs while communicating clearly with technical and nontechnical partners.
- Comfort participating in on-call or critical-issue response for business-impacting engineering-system incidents.
