We operate at a global scale and are looking for practical problem solvers who thrive on real-world challenges and rapid growth. Our team is motivated by building systems that have a direct, meaningful impact on people’s lives and by scaling the future of logistics. We are seeking people who sculpt from first principles, enjoy facing adversity, and can do the impossible at record breaking speeds.

About You and The Role

As Marketplace Strategy & Operations Manager, you’ll own initiatives that improve how Zipline’s marketplace performs and scales. Working closely with the Head of Marketplace, you’ll take business problems from analysis through execution—understanding what’s happening, deciding what to change, and bringing the right teams together to deliver results. This is a founding role for the marketplace team.

We’re looking for an analytical generalist with strong business judgment to drive work across teams. You should be equally comfortable diagnosing market performance and working with cross-functional teams to implement changes and deliver results. Your initial focus will include marketplace operations and performance across all Zipline demand sources. Your scope will also cover high-impact initiatives across pricing, growth, selection strategy, supply-demand matching, and expansion.

What You'll Do

  • Own marketplace levers that help us scale.Work with product, marketing, and operations to balance growth, available capacity, and customer experience, and measure the results.
  • Establish market performance monitoring. Build reliable site-level dashboards and foundational marketplace health reports for regular business reviews. Create views across sites, site archetypes, and markets that help teams understand performance and decide where to act.
  • Diagnose problems and drive improvements. Investigate changes in marketplace performance, identify the underlying drivers, and develop a plan of action. Work with Commercial, Operations, Marketing, Product, and Finance to implement changes and evaluate their impact.
  • Improve supply-demand balancing. Develop the analyses and decision processes that guide aircraft allocation and match demand with delivery capacity. Partner with Operations to identify constraints, evaluate tradeoffs, and put allocation decisions into practice.
  • Build repeatable ways of working. Turn recurring analyses and operating decisions into scalable processes that reduce the time from a business question to action. Establish clear metrics, decision criteria, and follow-up so teams can move faster as the network grows.
  • Drive projects independently. Given a defined business problem, determine the approach, align cross-functional partners, and manage execution with minimal oversight. Take accountability for results and, over time, identify the next problems we should solve.
  • Take on broader marketplace initiatives. Depending on business priorities and your strengths, own work such as analyzing price data and testing pricing or promotions; building growth plans with Marketing to determine what to activate, scale, or pause; evaluating selection and marketplace density to guide merchant prioritization; or informing expansion and site selection.

What You'll Bring

  • 4–6 years of relevant experience in strategy and operations, marketplace operations, business operations, analytics, consulting, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to data quality. You can independently work with data, validate your analysis, build reliable dashboards and models, and translate findings into clear business decisions.
  • Proficiency in SQL and spreadsheets, with experience using a business intelligence or visualization tool.
  • A track record of independently taking a defined business problem through analysis, strategy development, cross-functional execution, and measurable results.
  • Sound business judgment and an ability to weigh growth, efficiency, operational capacity, and customer experience.
  • Strong interpersonal judgment and clear communication. You build trust, understand different teams’ priorities, and influence decisions to move work forward across functions.
  • Curiosity, initiative, and motivation to deliver tangible business impact. You’re comfortable figuring out how to solve a problem, adapting as priorities shift, and getting into the details to make things happen.

Experience in a fast-growing consumer marketplace or a related operating role is especially relevant. We welcome different career paths that demonstrate analytical rigor, business judgment, and hands-on execution.

Classification of protected categories is as follows:

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
