We are seeking people who sculpt from first principles, enjoy facing adversity, and can do the impossible at record breaking speeds.

About You and The Role

Zipline is looking for a Senior AV Engineer to define and deliver the technical vision for our workplace audiovisual environment. You will own how AV systems are designed, standardized, operated, and maintained across large event spaces, conference rooms, and office displays.

This is a hands-on technical role with responsibility for both the employee experience today and the architecture that supports our growth. You will build reliable systems, establish clear technology standards, and create an operating model that makes AV easier to use, monitor, support, and scale.

What You'll Do

Define the technical vision and standards

  • Assess our current AV environment and develop a roadmap for reliability, usability, standardization, and lifecycle management.
  • Establish standards for conference rooms, large event spaces, and office displays, including approved equipment, system designs, control interfaces, and acceptance criteria.
  • Translate business needs into technical designs, investment priorities, and practical implementation plans.
  • Evaluate new technologies through testing and pilots, balancing employee experience, maintainability, cost, and long-term support.

Own large event spaces and all-hands experiences

  • Engineer, maintain, and improve the systems supporting company all-hands, leadership presentations, and other high-visibility events.
  • Own the technical readiness of audio, microphones, cameras, video switching, presentation playback, streaming, recording, and room controls.
  • Deliver a strong experience for both in-person and remote participants, including clear speech, reliable presentation sharing, and effective audience participation.
  • Establish rehearsal procedures, event checklists, backup plans, and support coverage; provide hands-on technical leadership during major events.
  • Identify recurring issues and turn event learnings into lasting system improvements.

Deliver consistent conference-room experiences

  • Own conference-room AV design, integration, commissioning, and ongoing performance.
  • Create intuitive, repeatable experiences for joining meetings, sharing content, and collaborating with remote teams.
  • Serve as the technical escalation point for complex issues across audio, video, conferencing platforms, control systems, and network connectivity.
  • Partner with IT support to develop troubleshooting guides, training, and clear escalation paths.

Manage office displays and content distribution

  • Own the technical platform for digital signage and content distribution throughout the office.
  • Establish reliable processes for display provisioning, content scheduling, publishing permissions, playback, and device health monitoring.
  • Partner with internal communications and workplace teams to enable timely, consistent content delivery.
  • Standardize displays, players, configurations, and support procedures across spaces.

Build a sustainable AV service

  • Establish centralized monitoring, preventive maintenance, asset inventory, configuration backups, controlled updates, and recovery procedures.
  • Maintain accurate system diagrams, signal flows, equipment inventories, configuration files, and operating documentation.
  • Partner with networking and security teams on secure, reliable AV connectivity and remote management.
  • Lead integrators and vendors through design review, installation, commissioning, documentation, and handoff.
  • Ensure internal teams retain access to system designs, source files, configurations, and the knowledge needed to support the environment.
  • Define and track measures of service quality, including room availability, event readiness, recurring incidents, and resolution time.

What You'll Bring

  • Substantial experience engineering and supporting enterprise AV environments, with demonstrated ownership of complex deployments and ongoing operations.
  • Deep, hands-on expertise with enterprise AV platforms such as QSC/Q-SYS, Biamp Tesira, Crestron, Extron, or comparable systems used in large meeting and event spaces.
  • Strong capabilities in DSP configuration, signal routing, control logic, user interfaces, commissioning, and troubleshooting across enterprise AV systems.
  • Strong audio fundamentals, including gain structure, acoustic echo cancellation, microphone selection and placement, wireless microphone coordination, loudspeaker systems, and system tuning.
  • Experience with video distribution, switching, cameras, presentation systems, streaming, and recording.
  • Working knowledge of AV networking, including networked audio and video, VLANs, multicast, QoS, and coordination with enterprise networking teams.
  • Experience integrating conferencing platforms, room peripherals, and control systems into a dependable user experience.
  • A track record of establishing technical standards, managing vendors, and taking systems from requirements through operational handoff.
  • The ability to troubleshoot calmly during live events and communicate clearly with presenters, employees, technical teams, and leadership.
  • Sound judgment about when to customize a solution and when to adopt a repeatable standard.

Preferred qualifications

  • Deep, hands-on expertise deploying and supporting QSC systems in large meeting and event spaces.
  • Strong Q-SYS capabilities, including Q-SYS Designer, Core processors, DSP configuration, signal routing, control logic, user interfaces, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
  • Relevant Q-SYS training or certifications, supported by practical deployment experience.
  • Experience with Lua scripting, APIs, and third-party device integration.
  • Experience administering enterprise digital signage or content-management platforms.
  • Experience developing AV standards across multiple locations.
  • AVIXA CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I, or equivalent demonstrated expertise.

What success looks like

  • A clear, prioritized AV roadmap guides technology decisions and investment.
  • All-hands and major events are supported by documented, tested systems and repeatable operating procedures.
  • Conference rooms provide a consistent experience employees can use confidently.
  • Office content is easy for authorized teams to publish and reliable for employees to view.
  • AV systems are documented, monitored, maintainable, and supported by clear ownership.
  • New spaces follow established standards, reducing unnecessary variation and recurring support issues.

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
