Senior ML / Robotics Engineer, Developer Relations

San Francisco, CA

Robotics will have a massive positive impact on the world economy and global human productivity over the coming decade. At Foxglove, we're excited for this future, and we're building powerful open source and commercial tools to accelerate it.

We're an experienced team of independent thinkers, with a passion for creating high quality products. We're looking for self-motivated and fast-learning individuals to join our mission.

About the role

We’re searching for a product‑minded, community and customer‑facing ML / Robotics Engineer to spearhead Developer Relations at Foxglove. You’ll craft interesting technical demos, create video and blog content, guide potential new customers through trials and integrations, attend and speak at global robotics conferences, and up-skill entire teams via workshops and trainings. Think of yourself as the missing link between robotics tech and the developers who need it.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical demos: Craft compelling technical demos that showcase Foxglove’s ML + robotics workflows
  • Sales engineering: Partner with our sales team to answer technical questions and support trials
  • Onboarding: Own the developer journey from first signal data to “aha!” moment, driving adoption metrics
  • Content engine: Produce blog posts, sample repos, tutorial videos, and reference integrations
  • Conference presence: Speak at robotics & ML events; network with the community to amplify Foxglove’s voice.
  • Hands‑on training: Host virtual and on‑site workshops, bootcamps, and customer seminars
  • Feedback loop: Channel insights to our product engineering team to improve the Foxglove platform

Location

We’re a small global company with team members primarily in the U.S. and Australia. We maintain Pacific Time hours and hire within ±4 hours of U.S. time zones to ensure effective collaboration.

For this role, we ideally looking for someone to work onsite from our office in San Francisco, since there will be significant robot hardware interactions. We're open to hybrid or full-remote for the right candidate.

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years building ML or robotics in Python or C++
  • Experience with ROS or similar robotics frameworks
  • Track record of public speaking, technical blog posts, or OSS contributions
  • Strong grasp of data pipelines, model training/evaluation, and robotics visualization
  • Excellent written & verbal communications; able to translate complex concepts into dev‑friendly stories
  • Self‑starter who thrives in fast‑paced, small‑team environments
  • Willingness to travel domestically & internationally up to 25% for conferences and customer visits

Bonus points

  • Experience with real‑time telemetry, lakehouse formats (Iceberg/Delta), or GPU orchestration (k8s + NVIDIA)
  • Contributions to robotics or ML open‑source projects

What we offer

  • For this role we offer $180,000 to $230,000 salary
  • Competitive equity grant in a Series A company
  • Medical insurance coverage at 90% for employees and 75% for dependents (for US full-time employees only)
  • 401k matching (US full time employees only)
  • 4 weeks vacation, plus holidays and winter break
