About the role:

Health-E Commerce is the leading online marketplace for FSA- and HSA-eligible products, serving over 50 million consumers annually. The company partners with Third Party Administrators (TPAs), Healthcare Partners and others, to enhance engagement, education, and awareness of FSA & HSA plans. Through close collaboration with TPAs and Benefit Administrators, Health-E Commerce strives to maximize the value and understanding of these financial health benefits for consumers.

To further tap into this substantial opportunity, Health-E Commerce is seeking to hire a Business Development Representative (BDR). The primary responsibility of the BDR is to build an outbound pipeline, generate qualified meetings, and accelerate the acquisition of new partners. This role is essential to the company’s strategy for partner growth, focusing on consistent top-of-funnel activity.

Key responsibilities:

Prospecting & Research 

  • Identify, research, and verify contacts for targeted prospects. 
  • Maintain and enrich CRM data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Determine decision-makers in Marketing, Client Experience, Operations, and Executive roles. 

Outbound Outreach & Lead Generation 

  • Conduct personalized outreach through email and phone.
  • Customize outreach messaging to address each prospect specific needs and competitive context.
  • Record outreach activities and engagement details in the CRM system.
  • Consistently generate qualified meetings for the VP of Sales per week.
  • Qualify prospects by assessing interest, fit, and readiness.
  • Maintain a meeting show rate of at least 80% through structured follow-up.
  • Schedule discovery and presentation meetings, providing detailed handoff notes to the VP of Sales. 

Performance & Collaboration 

  • Work collaboratively within the organization to improve targeting, messaging, and outreach cadence strategies.
  • Participate in weekly pipeline and performance reviews.
  • Track and optimize conversion rates throughout all stages of outreach.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements in outreach scripts, templates, and workflows. 

What you'll need:

Required

  • Minimum of 1–3 years’ experience in a BDR, SDR, inside sales, or outbound lead generation role.
  • Proven record of generating qualified B2B meetings.
  • Strong research skills and experience in contact identification.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience using CRM systems, with a preference for Salesforce or HubSpot.
  • Ability to personalize outreach at scale and manage high-volume activity.
  • Comfortable engaging with executive-level contacts. 

Preferred

  • Experience in benefits administration, healthtech, fintech, or e-commerce.
  • Familiarity with TPAs or the consumer-directed benefits ecosystem.
  • Experience using LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Outreach.io, or similar sales enablement tools.
  • Understanding outbound funnel metrics and pipeline development. 

KPI's

  • Number of qualified meetings set and completed. 
  • Outreach-to-meeting conversion rate.
  • Meeting show rate.
  • CRM data remains accurate and up to date daily.
  • Weekly outreach goals.

Compensation, Benefits, & Additional Details:

Health-E Commerce's compensation philosophy is grounded in market data and internal equity to ensure fairness and consistency across the team. Individuals new to the company should generally expect offers to fall between the entry point and midpoint of the salary range.  Our goal is to provide an offer that supports growth potential within the role and allows for future salary progression.  

  • On Target Earnings: $75,000 - $95,000, made up of $26-$31/hour base (over-time eligible) plus a meeting-based bounty and a quarterly consistency bonus.
