About Green Project: Green Project is a SaaS-based carbon accounting and ESG management platform. Under increasing pressure from customers, investors, regulators and employees, businesses—especially small and medium businesses—are struggling to calculate and report on their GHG emissions.

Job Overview: Join Green Project as a Senior Account Executive and be a part of a fast-growing climate tech company that's making a positive impact on the environment. As a crucial member of our team, you'll be responsible for managing a client book and proactively reaching out to ensure client satisfaction and retention while continuously hunting and closing new business. The ideal candidate has a history of bringing on new business and hitting sales quotas and loves the challenges that come with outbound prospecting in a competitive market. Responsibilities: 

  • Build and maintain lasting relationships with clients and partners by understanding their focus and anticipating their needs  
  • Illustrate the value of products and services to create growth opportunities; compile and analyze data to identify trends 
  • Participate in brainstorming, office activities, staff meetings, and client meetings; research and assist with program development for existing clients and new prospects 
  • Perform prospecting activities such as cold calling and networking 
  • Follow up with clients regularly to ensure needs are being met and to identify opportunities 
  • Maintain a database of clients, prospects, partners, and vendors 
  • Create detailed business plans to facilitate the attainment of goals and quotas 
  • Manage the entire sales cycle from finding a client to securing a deal 
  • Unearth new sales opportunities through networking and turn them into long term partnerships 
  • Present products to prospective clients 
  • Provide professional after-sales support to enhance the customers’ dedication 
  • Remain in frequent contact with the clients in your responsibility to understand their needs 
  • Respond to complaints and resolve issues aiming to customer contentment and the preservation of the company’s reputation 
  • Negotiate agreements and keep records of sales and data 
  • Stay current with company offerings and industry trends 

Requirements: 

  • 5-7 years of proven experience as an Account Executive 
  • 2+ years working in Sustainability, Energy, ESG or related fields 
  • Knowledge of market research, sales and negotiating principles 
  • Experience closing multi-year deals and deals over $100,000 annual recurring revenue 
  • Ability to map out key stakeholders in strategic accounts 
  • Expertise in managing sales cycles of 6+ months 
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts while seeking new opportunities 
  • Ability to understand client needs and negotiate costs and services 
  • Proficiency with CRM software and an aptitude for learning new systems 
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills and ability to build relationships 
  • Organizational and time-management skills 
  • Undergraduate degree in Climate Studies, Environmental Studies, Energy Studies, Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field  

Salary:  

$100,000-$120,000 + commission. Actual base pay may vary based on various factors such as location, job-related knowledge, skills, level and experience. The base pay is just one component of the total competitive compensation package for employees.

Remote Work: 

Green Project embraces remote work, with a team of talented individuals based across the US in Colorado, East Coast states, and several other countries. All US applicants must be based in Colorado or East Coast states. Our largest presence is in NYC, where employees are invited to join occasional in-person working days. However, attendance is never required.
