Senior Category Manager - Strategic Sourcing (Packaging)

The role

At HelloFresh, our mission is simple: to change the way people eat, forever. As the Category Manager for Packaging, you will report directly to the Director of Packaging and take full ownership of creating and developing our Primary packaging category (ingredient packaging, plastic film…). You will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies to improve our cost structure, the quality of our products, and the reliability of our supply chain, while playing a leading role in supporting innovation and new product development. 

We are looking for an ambitious, confident, and entrepreneurial procurement professional who can balance the analytical requirements of the role with the collaborative skills needed to elevate our customer experience.

What you’ll do

  • Drive Innovation: Source primary suppliers that can co-create and develop best-in-class primary packaging solutions tailored specifically to our unique business model.
  • Data-Driven Execution: Leverage large internal datasets and industry benchmarks (including market, supplier, and SKU analysis) to identify opportunities for cost reduction and implement best practices.
  • Develop the Supply Base: Build and maintain a strong pool of primary packaging suppliers capable of providing all of our ingredient packaging requirements, taking full ownership of vendor selection, specs definition, KPIs and relationships.
  • Elevate Customer Experience: Work closely with the packaging design team to improve the overall look and feel of our ingredient packaging.

What you’ll bring

  • Preferably deep knowledge and interest in food, Ideally working within a similar environment and sector
  • Masters degree in Supply Chain / Procurement / Business (or equivalent) 
  • 5+ years of strategic procurement / supply chain / consulting experience in operations practise
  • Proven track record of entrepreneurial mindset, and ability to prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment 
  • Quantitative and analytical experience, including solid comfort with the Gsuite
  • Proactive, flexible, ambitious, and assertive: you take ownership of your work

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 10% - 25% (Flexible)
