About the team: 

The Events Specialist (Contract) will play a key role in the organization and execution of global Liftoff employee events as directed by the Senior Manager, Employee Experience. Additionally, this role will ensure that existing employee experience programs are maintained and continue to reflect and exude Liftoff’s culture. This role focuses on fostering and optimizing the employee experience through strategic events and programs. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Support the Senior Manager, Employee Experience with executing on the strategy for Liftoff Lives, ERC events, and team gatherings that align with the company employee experience objectives.
  • Work with the Senior Manager, Employee Experience to develop detailed project plans and timelines for Liftoff Lives events to fuel their successful execution.
  • Complete assigned tasks related to Liftoff event logistics including but not limited to: budgeting, attendance strategy, venue selection, and more.
  • Develop communications in accordance with a timeline that ensures timely and thoughtful dissemination of Liftoff Live event details and creates excitement for team alignment.
  • After each Liftoff Live, collaborate with the Em-Ex team on a detailed post-event summary including budget reconciliation, analyzed survey feedback, and areas for improvement to share takeaways with key stakeholders.
  • Continuously assess existing processes and recommend proactive improvements (i.e. new technologies, changes/clarifications in policies, etc.) to Senior Manager, Employee Experience to support a positive experience consistent with our global event strategy.
  • Collaborate with the Em-Ex team on processes for the company to request team gathering event support, ensuring that all requests are responded to and executed against according to the support level established.
  • Collaborate with regional employee experience specialists to coordinate and support in-hub team gathering requests as needed, ensuring successful execution. 
  • Update event pages on our company intranet, ensuring information remains up to date.
  • Work with the Em-Ex team to develop questions for post-event surveys in advance for Ops team execution to gather feedback and analyze success through survey results, participation rates, and other KPIs. 
  • Manage assigned event vendor relationships flawlessly, negotiate pricing fiercely.
  • Ensure execution of programs and events are in compliance with all local regulations and laws, and appropriately reflect local and global Liftoff culture.
  • Collaborate regularly with the wider Em-Ex team for coordination on ERC event proposals, dates, support, and execution.
  • In collaboration with People Team Leadership, drive the planning and execution of our annual People Team Offsite.

Requirements: 

  • 4-6 years of experience in corporate event management, preferably globally. 
  • Proven ability to plan and execute events ranging from small-scale team meetings to large company-wide events. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teams across regions and businesses, delivering high levels of performance and a best-in-class employee experience that is consistent across all regions. 
  • Capable of managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously; strong project management skills.
  • Experience with tracking and reporting budgets in spreadsheets.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills; ability to manage executive stakeholders and write engaging announcements.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate with outside vendors and external service providers.
  • Proven ability to think strategically and creatively to solve problems under pressure.
  • Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally for event support.

Location:

This contract role is eligible for remote work in the Pacific Time Zone: CA, NV, OR, and WA.

We are a remote-first company with US hubs in Redwood City, Los Angeles, and New York City. 

Travel Expectations:

We offer several opportunities for in-person team gatherings, including but not limited to project meetings, regional meetups, and company-wide events. We expect our employees to attend these gatherings at least once per quarter. These gatherings provide essential opportunities for collaboration, communication, and team building.

Liftoff's Compensation Strategy

Liftoff's compensation strategy includes competitive market rate along with equity and benefits and perks that will give our employees what they need to do their best work. In order to ensure teams are compensated fairly for the work performed, we map out specific levels and take into consideration the cost of labor within each location. Liftoff provides employees a total compensation package of competitive market salaries, equity, health and wellness stipends, medical benefits associated with your country of residence. The base compensation will vary based on location, experience as well as level.
