The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) is an MLS soccer club serving the greater Los Angeles area. POSITION SUMMARY

LAFC is seeking a Social Media Contractor to support the Club’s digital team with a primary focus on LAFC2. This role will be responsible for capturing and publishing real-time content, managing matchday coverage, and supporting ongoing social media initiatives. 

This is a hands-on, content-first role ideal for someone who is highly creative, deeply knowledgeable about soccer, and fluent in social media trends and platforms. The contractor will work closely with the broader social and content teams to ensure LAFC2 maintains a strong and consistent digital presence.

This is a 1099 independent contractor position with part-time hours, averaging 8–10 hours per week, with hours fluctuating based on the LAFC2 match schedule. Thus, this person must have a flexible schedule with the ability to work nights, holidays, and weekends as required by the match schedule. 

This role reports to the Director, Social Media and Marketing.

LAFC is currently operating on a hybrid work model with a minimum of 2 in-office days per week. Please note that this may vary by role, and your scheduled in-office days are up to the discretion of your supervisor.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide matchday coverage, specifically capturing and posting real-time content during LAFC2 matches, both home and away games (online and throughout Southern California).
    • Coverage across various platforms (Instagram, Instagram Stories, and Twitter/X).
    • Deliver timely highlights, key moments, and behind-the-scenes content.
  • Shoot, edit, and create engaging short-form vertical video and photo content while adhering to the Club’s tone and style.
  • Assist with ideating and executing creative concepts as well as publishing and scheduling content for LAFC2 across social channels and platforms.
  • Ensure content is optimized for each social platform and channel.
  • Stay up to date and proactive suggest content ideas based on social media trends and moments, especially in sports and soccer culture.
  • Provide support and work alongside LAFC’s social, video, and design teams on assigned projects as needed.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned by Supervisor / Management.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Pursuing or earned degree from an accredited four-year College or University required.
  • Previous experience in social media, content creation, or a related field required.
  • Must have a strong knowledge and passion for soccer.
  • Must be based in the Greater Los Angeles Area and have reliable transportation to commute to cover matches throughout the Southern California region. 
  • Basic video editing skills (CapCut, Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or similar) required.
  • Solid understanding of social media trends, tone, and platform best practices
  • Must be able to work nights, holidays, and weekends based on match schedule.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, live event environments and alongside players and team staff.

COMPENSATION

At LAFC, we carefully consider a wide range of factors to determine a fair and equitable compensation . The final offer amount will consider a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to skill sets; relevant experience and training; and other business and organizational needs. Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure guidelines, the compensation for this role is $1,600 per month
