Finance Senior Financial and Systems Analyst (Hair Color Bars)

The Senior Financial and Systems Analyst for Madison Reed will support our rapid expansion of our Hair Color Bar business and will be focused on providing our business partners with exceptional support, while having the unique opportunity for meaningful exposure to senior executives, new business initiatives, and everything in between.

Reporting to the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis, the Finance Senior Financial Analyst will also serve as a mentor and leader within the team. The position is full time and remote, with up to 5% travel from home including but not limited to team meetings, Quarterly Business meetings, & company-sponsored events.

The base salary range for this position is between 115,000 and 120,000. At Madison Reed, we aim to pay competitively. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and maintain key reporting metrics and evolve reporting and models to grow with the business needs
  • Modeling guru with advanced excel skills and ability to tweak or develop our planning tool models (Adaptive/Workday).
  • Must have advanced knowledge of Power BI and working knowledge of SQL
  • Partner with the Director of FP&A and key stakeholders to produce monthly financial review packages, annual budget, 3-year strategic plan, and quarterly forecasts. This includes owning forecasting for part of the P&L, supporting analysis, and consolidation
  • Work with business partners to set monthly strategic goals, review past monthly performance and track budget
  • Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with senior leadership.
  • Acquire and maintain a thorough understanding of business issues, strategies and risks and profitability opportunities.
  • Bring new thinking and ways of doing things to the function, as appropriate, including analyzing and pushing new metrics and performance indicators to help identify trends.
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis and lead various other reporting projects including decision support, metrics and analytics.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in related field (Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, Math, etc), and 3-5 years in corporate finance, or equivalent combination of education and experience in Finance (Budgeting, Performance Reporting, and Financial analysis).
  • Modeling guru with advanced excel skills and ability to tweak or develop our planning tool models (Adaptive/Workday).
  • Must have advanced knowledge of Power BI and working knowledge of SQL
  • You enjoy problem solving - digging into complex and ambiguous data sets and synthesizing the “so what”s at an executive level  
  • You are self-directed, thrive in ambiguous situations, and love to take charge of complex tasks with minimal direction.
  • You are excited about the opportunity to work in a fast-paced start-up environment, and to be a key partner as we scale the company.
  • Experience in consumer facing retail brick and mortar business desired. 
  • You are eager to develop new ways of approaching business challenges independently and proactively.
  • Ability to implement new processes and systems
  • Experience in a data-driven environment 
  • Familiarity with accounting systems (such as Netsuite, SAP, Hyperion), planning tools (such as Adaptive Planning or Anaplan) 
  • You have excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
