This position is ideal for a capable and ambitious individual accustomed to working in a high-volume environment under tight deadlines.

Job Summary:

As an Inventory Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting the Inventory Manager with day-to-day inventory control operations across multiple distribution centers. This position is key to maintaining accurate inventory records, assisting with audits, and support best practices to minimize shrinkage, reduce product loss, and enhance overall efficiency. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure inventory movements, stock accuracy, and loss prevention efforts align with company objectives. Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Tracking & Management: Support the Inventory Manager in overseeing daily inventory processes, ensuring accurate stock levels across multiple distribution centers. Assist with tracking and reporting on inventory transfers and stock adjustments.
  • Stock Audits & Compliance: Conduct regular cycle counts, including top 100 SKU counts, and assist in the identification of discrepancies. Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to maintain inventory integrity and minimize inaccuracies.
  • Loss Prevention & Shrink Reduction: Assist in identifying root causes of breakage, shrinkage, and product loss. Support the implementation of corrective actions to mitigate shrink and improve overall inventory accuracy. Report findings and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborative Support: Work closely with warehouse, operations, sales, and finance teams to facilitate smooth inventory operations, ensuring alignment with company objectives and minimizing spoilage, theft, and errors.
  • Inventory Adjustments: Assist with inventory adjustments, reporting discrepancies, and ensuring proper documentation of inventory changes. Help authorize and track the destruction of damaged or expired products.
  • Reporting Support: Assist in generating reports on key metrics such as stock levels and inventory discrepancies.
  • Training & Process Improvement: Support training initiatives to educate warehouse teams on best practices, inventory management systems, and loss prevention strategies. Contribute ideas for process improvement to reduce waste, enhance workflow, and improve inventory control procedures.
  • Inventory Documentation: Ensure accurate documentation of inventory activities, stock movements, and related reports to provide clear records for the Inventory Manager’s oversight.
  • Write-offs and Adjustments: Oversee daily write-offs to adjust inventory, ensuring proper documentation for inventory changes.
  • Audit Inventory Procedures: Audit inventory-related procedures to ensure compliance in areas such as receiving, delivery, recycling, and night loading.
  • Inventory Rotation & Inspection: Ensure proper rotation of inventory through tagging and visual inspection, adhering to FIFO practices to minimize waste and spoilage.
  • Code Date Verification: Verify and update code date information in the warehouse management system to ensure product freshness and accuracy.
  • Code Date Reporting: Compile code date reports for review by the Purchasing department to facilitate timely inventory purchasing and stock management.
  • Month-End Counts: Responsible for month-end counts on pallets, empty kegs, and dunnage, ensuring accurate stock levels and thorough reporting of these assets.

 Required Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree preferred.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment, including occasional lifting (typically up to 50 lbs.) and standing/walking for extended periods.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule with some nights and weekends.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in warehousing, inventory control, and distribution experience in a high-volume environment.
  • Familiarity and comfort level with warehousing technology. Experience with EoStar, SAP, or Vocallect is a plus.
  • Experience in loss prevention or shrinkage reduction strategies in a warehouse or distribution setting is a plus.
  • Experience with barcode scanning systems and RFID technology is a plus.
  • Basic familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word; advanced skills are a plus.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Continuous desire to improve processes and workflows.
  • Understanding of FIFO (First In, First Out) and experience with slotting for optimal inventory storage.
  • Experience working with a unionized crew is a plus.

 

Hourly Salary: $25.00-$27.00
It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors, including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
