Industrial Design Lead

About Maven

Maven Robotics designs, builds, and deploys intelligent robotics for logistics and manufacturing. Maven is building the first general-purpose robotics system for industrial work. Our mission is to activate autonomous labor at scale and build toward infinitely elastic industrial capacity. We’re a team of engineers, researchers, and operators who have spent our careers working on the hardest problems in AI, robotics, engineering, and autonomous systems. We work at the intersection of advanced research and real-world engineering, turning ideas into prototypes and deployed systems.

At Maven, we build around the realities of industrial work. The robots are designed from first principles for complex physical environments and rigorous commercial standards. They master real tasks that deliver immediate impact, industrial-grade reliability, and intelligence that compounds at scale. We’re growing an ambitious team of people who think in systems, move quickly, and are builders at heart.

About the Role

As the Lead Industrial Designer at Maven Robotics, you will work closely with company leadership and the product design team to develop all aspects of the Maven visual brand language.  The lead designer will have a high level of ownership of the cosmetic appearance, CMF, and UI/UX features of Maven products.

What You’ll Do

  • Translate customer needs, design insights, and technical requirements into elegant, intuitive industrial design solutions
  • Drive the industrial design process from early concept exploration through detailed design, prototyping, and manufacturing
  • Brainstorm and create cohesive visual brand language options for Maven product lines
  • Work with the product design team to refine the implementation details needed to achieve the desired appearance
  • Develop simple and efficient user interface concepts that can be deployed in industrial settings
  • Define Color, Material, and Finish (CMF) requirements.  Work with manufacturers to produce and maintain cosmetic appearance standards
  • Work with the team to evaluate cosmetic samples and prototypes against intent
  • Support design reviews by preparing clear visual references, annotated models, and finish sample boards

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of professional Industrial Design experience in the consumer products, automotive, or industrial products industries
  • A strong portfolio of design work on realized products illustrating refined visual sensibility and a thoughtful balance between form and function
  • Demonstrated ability to own the design of products from early concept all the way to high-volume production
  • Proficient in industry-standard 2D and 3D design software

Nice to Have

  • 10+ years of Industrial Design experience in the consumer products, automotive, or industrial products industries
  • Industrial design experience in the robotics field
