Strategic Finance Manager

Santa Clara, CA

About Maven

Maven Robotics designs, builds, and deploys intelligent robotics for logistics and manufacturing. Maven is building the first general-purpose robotics system for industrial work. Our mission is to activate autonomous labor at scale and build toward infinitely elastic industrial capacity. We’re a team of engineers, researchers, and operators who have spent our careers working on the hardest problems in AI, robotics, engineering, and autonomous systems. We work at the intersection of advanced research and real-world engineering, turning ideas into prototypes and deployed systems.

At Maven, we build around the realities of industrial work. The robots are designed from first principles for complex physical environments and rigorous commercial standards. They master real tasks that deliver immediate impact, industrial-grade reliability, and intelligence that compounds at scale. We’re growing an ambitious team of people who think in systems, move quickly, and are builders at heart.

About the Role

As a Strategic Finance Manager at Maven Robotics, you will build the financial foundation for our next stage of growth. This is a highly entrepreneurial role where you will work closely with our founder and CFO and partner closely with leadership and teams across Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain to turn complex financial and operational data into insights that guide critical business decisions.

We’re looking for someone who is a builder at heart, intellectually curious, highly analytical, and self-motivated. You’ll build financial models and processes from the ground up, influence how Maven allocates resources, and help shape the capital allocation strategy driving our growth.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and own financial models to drive accurate forecasting, strategic planning, and business decisions
  • Develop pricing models to evaluate commercial agreements with current and prospective customers
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning, refining financial models as the company scales
  • Analyze key business drivers, including headcount, R&D, hardware, compute, supply chain, and operating expenses
  • Partner with leadership, Engineering, and cross-functional teams to evaluate investments, resource allocation, hiring plans, and technical tradeoffs
  • Develop scenario analyses, financial reporting, and key metrics to translate complex data into actionable insights
  • Support Board reporting, fundraising, investor relations, and financial due diligence
  • Leverage technology, automation, and AI to streamline financial processes and scale Finance operations

What We’re Looking For

  • 6+ years of experience in strategic finance, investment banking, public or private equity investing, or another highly analytical finance role
  • Strong financial modeling skills with a track record of building and owning complex operating models end-to-end
  • A structured, systems-oriented approach to forecasting, planning, and financial analysis
  • Excellent business judgment with the ability to connect financial analysis to operational and strategic decisions
  • Strong analytical skills, including comfort working with large imperfect datasets
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, independently taking complex problems from analysis through recommendation and execution
  • Strong communication and cross-functional partnership skills, with the ability to translate complex analysis into clear recommendations for technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • High ownership and intellectual curiosity, with a willingness to dig into the details, challenge assumptions, and operate effectively in a fast-paced startup environment

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA is a plus
  • Experience in deep tech, hardware technology, or early-stage startup environments, ideally supporting Engineering, R&D, AI/ML, or robotics teams
  • Understanding of hardware economics, manufacturing, supply chain, compute infrastructure, or capital-intensive business models
  • Familiarity with Board reporting, fundraising, investor relations, and financial due diligence
  • Experience building and optimizing financial planning systems through automation, technology, or AI-enabled workflows
