Brand Designer

Torrance, California, United States

Who we are

Neros is a defense technology company building America’s drone industrial base. We design and manufacture high-performance unmanned systems that are tested in combat, iterated at startup speed, and built at massive scale. Our team culture is fast, hands-on, and obsessed with closing the gap between design and deployment.

As drones transform the character of warfare, Neros is delivering the systems America and its allies needs to compete on the modern battlefield and deter future conflicts, or else win them. We’re building a lean Marketing organization of creatives and operators who want to move fast, take extreme ownership, build a brand from the ground up, and tell the Neros story.

What you will be doing

Sitting within the Marketing organization, Neros’ Brand Designer is responsible for visual design execution across Neros’ Marketing ecosystem. You’ll ingest strategic and creative briefs to bring our campaigns to life across our web, social, email, biz dev collateral, board decks, print, trade show, environments, and out of home assets.

This role is for someone who both wants to build a brand system, and execute through it. We’re not looking for an armchair art director – you should be deeply invested in your craft, and be hands-on across all channels.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and evolve Neros’ brand system, including codifying how our visual identity translates across digital and physical surfaces
  • Build and maintain Neros’ brand assets in Figma including illustration libraries, iconography, typography, layout styles, and components
  • Design across digital channels, including partnering with Nero’s existing Web & Digital Experience Designer
  • Lead design and layout work across business development collateral including product catalogs, one pagers, and client presentations
  • Lead environmental design across events, trade shows, office spaces, and out of home assets
  • Lead merch design including sample quality assurance and vendor design file hand offs

You should have the following

  • 5+ years experience in brand design, preferably in defense, aerospace, robotics, tech, or hardware industries
  • Expert level skill in Figma, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, and Powerpoint
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a pipeline of design requests with varying degrees of complexity and urgency
  • Demonstrated ability to work from a brand platform and balance brand sensibilities and existing guard rails with thoughtful evolutions of design language
  • Experience with automated workflows (AI will never replace taste but it can reduce cognitive load on repetitive tasks)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills – you must be able to articulate the intentionality behind your design choices

Nice to have

  • Skill in motion design, animation, or illustration

US Salary Range

$111,000 – $155,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are considered part of Neros' total compensation package.

We’re an equal opportunity employer. We welcome all applicants without attention to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran or disability status.
