Senior Software Engineer - Decisioning

We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to build features and infrastructure for our decisioning (automated underwriting) team. Used by dealerships across the country, this product provides a streamlined workflow for dealerships to get fast, flexible financing to their customers. Working with a team of passionate, experienced engineers, you'll work throughout the backend of our stack with technologies such as Python, Django, PostgreSQL.

This isn't just about writing code; it's about engineering solutions. You will work alongside a passionate group of veteran engineers to architect scalable systems, mentor growing talent, and ensure our marketplace remains the gold standard for speed and reliability.

Responsibilities: 

  • Design and architect high-quality software systems that are maintainable and scalable.
  • Build elegant, high-impact features using Python and Django.
  • Own the reliability of the stack with sophisticated automated testing.
  • Lead high-level code reviews and crush complex technical bottlenecks.
  • Partner across teams to turn ambitious product visions into reality.
  • Mentor rising talent and set the gold standard for engineering excellence.
  • Use AI-assisted development to accelerate the pace of the software development lifecycle.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field preferred.
  • Deep proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Python, Java, Node.js).
  • Proven track record of designing, building, and delivering scalable technical solutions end-to-end.
  • Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and infrastructure automation (Terraform, CDK, or similar).
  • Advanced SQL skills and extensive hands-on experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle).
  • Direct experience building and deploying application containers using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Active participation in code reviews, Pull Request workflows, and version control best practices (GitHub, Bitbucket, or Azure DevOps).
  • Demonstrated success mentoring junior developers, driving technical alignment, and fostering engineering growth.
  • Solutions-oriented mindset with strong initiative, accountability, and communication skills within collaborative team environments.
  • Ability to partner effectively across cross-functional teams to solve complex problems and deliver high-quality features.

Compensation: In addition to salary, Total Rewards include bonus eligibility, a stock option package, and benefits as outlined below. The role described above offers a base salary of $130,000 to $170,000 + corporate bonus eligibility. Your offer will be based on location, the alignment of your qualifications with the requirements of the job and internal equity.
