Position Overview

The Marketing Business Intelligence & Data Analyst plays a pivotal role in advancing the bank’s marketing, digital, and growth strategies by transforming complex data into actionable intelligence. Operating within a $7–$10 billion asset banking environment, this role serves as a trusted analytics partner to marketing leadership, delivering high-impact insights across retail and commercial lines of business.

Blending disciplined data management with advanced reporting, campaign analytics, and performance measurement, the incumbent enables informed, compliant, and data-driven decision-making. This role is essential in optimizing marketing effectiveness, enhancing customer acquisition and engagement, and ensuring regulatory-aligned use of customer and prospect data.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities – All levels

Marketing Data & Business Intelligence 
• Manage and maintain the bank’s marketing data environment (MCIF, CRM, campaign platforms). 
• Develop, automate, and distribute recurring and ad hoc reports and dashboards. 
• Translate data into clear insights and recommendations. 
 
Campaign Analytics & Execution Support
 
• Support email, digital, and multi-channel campaigns through list development and performance analysis. 
• Track campaign effectiveness and ROI. 
 
Digital & Channel Analytics 
• Provide performance metrics for online, mobile, and social channels. 
• Monitor KPIs such as traffic, engagement, and conversions. 
 
Reporting, Incentives & Program Management
 
• Administer marketing program reporting. 
• Develop prospecting and ad hoc reports. 
• Ensure marketing data usage complies with banking regulations. 

Additional Responsibilities – VP Level

Marketing Data & Business Intelligence 

  • Maintain sole accountability to own and steward the bank’s marketing data ecosystem; ensure data integrity, usability, and alignment with business objectives.
  • Provide interpretation, guidance and direction to stakeholders offering support and challenging assumptions to influence business decisions.

Campaign Analytics & Execution

  • Enable multi-channel campaigns through sophisticated list development, segmentation and targeting.
  • Analyze campaign performance across channels measuring effectiveness, ROI, and customer response; present insights to continuously refine strategy and execution.
  • Partner with team and stakeholders to translate performance results into optimization strategies that improve reach, engagement and conversion.

Reporting, Incentives & Program Management

  • Administer and enhance marketing program reporting, including incentive and promotional analysis, to ensure transparency and performance accountability.
  • Produce prospecting, segmentation, and ad hoc analytical reports to support strategic initiatives and targeted outreach.

Minimum Requirements – AVP level
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Analytics, or related field; and three or more years of experience in marketing analytics or business intelligence.

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in SQL and relational databases, with the ability to independently query, validate, and interpret complex datasets.
  • Advanced Excel expertise, including complex formulas, pivot tables, data modeling, and automation to support scalable reporting and analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with MCIF, CRM platforms, and business intelligence (BI) tools to support reporting, segmentation, and performance measurement.
  • Working knowledge of email marketing platforms, digital campaign execution, and foundational HTML to support testing and optimization.

Competencies

  • Advanced analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to transform data into actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, translating complex analyses into clear, compelling narratives for cross-functional and leadership audiences.
  • Highly organized and self-directed, with proven ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively across marketing, analytics, IT, and business partners.

Location Details 

This position is considered a hybrid role.  With management approval, an incumbent may work a combination of remote and onsite work to perform the regular responsibilities of the role.  Actual schedule requirements may vary based upon business needs.

Note: Job levels and hiring decisions are based upon both the business needs of the department and the qualifications of the incumbent.  In some cases, an incumbent may meet the requirements of the VP level role but may be hired in at a lower level based upon business needs and staffing dynamics.


Compensation & Benefits

AVP Level - Base pay:  $77,705 - $105,000 

VP Level - Base Pay:  $95,770 - $125,000; VP level is Officer Bonus Eligible:  Eligible to participate in the Annual Officer Incentive plan with a target bonus up to 10% of base salary based various performance components.
