Staff Product Manager, AI Product

PathAI is looking for an experienced, strategic Staff AI Product Manager to help shape and execute our core product roadmap. As a Staff PM, you will serve as a strategic leader and cross-functional connector, partnering closely with machine learning, pathology, biomedical data science, clinical affairs, quality, regulatory, and business operations teams. You will be responsible for defining multi-year product visions, building business cases, and driving high-impact AI/ML algorithms from initial scientific discovery to deployment.

This role offers a high-visibility opportunity to lead zero-to-one product initiatives and scale existing algorithm portfolios in a fast-growing, dynamic health-tech environment.

The Opportunity:

• Drive Strategic AI Product Vision: Define and execute the multi-year product strategy and roadmap for PathAI algorithm products within a key business unit or disease area (e.g., oncology).
• Lead End-to-End Product Lifecycle: Conduct product explorations, build business cases, define requirements, oversee prototyping, and lead the cross-functional deployment of new AI products and product line extensions.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner closely with AI/ML engineers, data scientists, clinical specialists, product designers, and pathologists to translate complex algorithmic discoveries into scalable, user-centric clinical and research tools.
• Commercial & Scientific Alignment: Build compelling business cases to motivate the development of novel technical, scientific, and platform capabilities for PathAI.
• Regulatory & Quality Integration: Collaborate with Clinical Affairs, Quality, and Regulatory teams to support validation strategies (including SaMD considerations) for clinical trials and regulatory pathways.

Who You Are:

(Required)

• You have a bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Computational Biology, Biomedical Engineering, Biology, or a related technical/scientific field.
• You have 7+ years of experience in product management, with a track record of launching and scaling production AI/ML, data science, or bioinformatics products.
• You have demonstrated experience driving product development within healthcare, life sciences, digital pathology, or biotech domains.
• You have a demonstrated understanding of the end-to-end AI/ML product lifecycle, including model development, dataset curation, evaluation metrics, and monitoring algorithms post-launch.
• You have exceptional cross-functional collaboration and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders across technical, scientific, clinical, and executive teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• You have experience with Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) and familiarity with regulatory frameworks (e.g., FDA 510(k)/PMA pathways, CE-IVD).
• You are a subject matter expertise or background in oncology, histopathology, or biomarker discovery.
• You have experience building products for translational research, biopharma partnerships, or clinical trial operations.
• You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively within and across teams.
• You have excellent organizational skills, including the ability to efficiently evaluate, prioritize and handle multiple changing projects and priorities; you complete work in a timely, accurate and thorough manner 

This position is based in Boston, MA (preferred) or NYC.
Relocation benefits are not available for this position.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location Boston, MA is $146,250 - $224,250.  Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
