Product Launch Lead:

Pivot Bio is looking for an experienced Sr. Product Manager to drive the successful introduction of new products to market. This role will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing product launches, ensuring alignment across cross-functional teams such as innovation, agronomy, sales, marketing, and operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in product management, launch strategy, and project management, with the ability to handle complex initiatives from ideation through execution. The Product Launch Lead will report to the Sr Director of Product Management and will play a key role in ensuring the success of new product introductions. 

This role will be hybrid in our Hazelwood, MO office.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

Launch Strategy & Planning: 

  • Develop comprehensive launch plans for new products, from initial concept through to post-launch analysis, ensuring alignment with company goals and market needs. 
  • Collaborate with product management, R&D, sales, marketing, and operations teams to establish clear timelines, objectives, and deliverables for each product launch. 
  • Define the target audience, market positioning, pricing strategy, and value proposition for new products in collaboration with marketing and sales teams. 
  • Ensure that all product launches are grounded in market research, customer insights, and competitive analysis to maximize impact and adoption. 

Project Management: 

  • Lead cross-functional teams in the execution of product launch plans, ensuring milestones are met on time and within budget. 
  • Track and manage the progress of multiple launches simultaneously, identifying and mitigating risks to timelines or deliverables. 
  • Act as the central point of coordination, ensuring all stakeholders are informed and aligned throughout the launch process. 
  • Implement best practices in product launch management, using tools such as Gantt charts, project tracking software, and agile methodologies to ensure smooth execution. 

Market Readiness & Go-to-Market Coordination: 

  • Ensure that the product, marketing, and sales teams are fully equipped with the materials and training needed for successful product launches, including sales enablement tools, competitive insights, product specs, and go-to-market strategies. 
  • Work closely with marketing to create launch campaigns, product messaging, and promotional materials that drive awareness and adoption. 
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop training programs, onboarding materials, and product demos to ensure they are prepared to sell and support the new products effectively. 
  • Oversee customer education initiatives, ensuring that training, documentation, and technical support are aligned with product launches. 

Post-Launch Analysis & Optimization: 

  • Monitor the performance of new product launches, collecting and analyzing data on sales, customer feedback, and market response. 
  • Develop and present detailed post-launch reports to senior leadership, including performance metrics, lessons learned, and recommendations for future launches. 
  • Continuously refine and optimize the product launch process based on feedback and data, ensuring future launches are even more effective. 

Stakeholder Communication & Leadership: 

  • Provide regular updates to senior leadership on launch progress, risks, and performance, keeping all stakeholders informed of critical milestones and developments. 
  • Serve as a product evangelist both internally and externally, ensuring cross-functional teams and customers fully understand the value and impact of new product introductions. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred). 
  • 12+ years of experience in product management, product marketing, or project management, with a focus on product launches in a technical, scientific, or agricultural industry. 
  • Proven success in leading complex product launches from ideation through to market introduction, preferably in the biotech or agricultural sectors. 
  • Strong project management skills, with experience managing cross-functional teams and delivering on time and on budget. 
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and align stakeholders at all levels. 
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed, strategic decisions. 
  • Experience with market research, competitive analysis, and customer insights to inform product positioning and launch strategies. 
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies, such as Agile, Jira, or Asana. 
  • Experience in the agricultural or biotech industries is highly preferred.
