SUMMARY:

Placer.ai is hiring an Account Executive to join our Management Consulting team. You’ll sell Placer’s location analytics platform to strategy, management, and advisory firms. That includes global strategy houses, Big Four advisory practices, operations and restructuring firms, and boutique consultancies. Consultants use Placer to give their clients faster, more defensible answers on commercial due diligence, market sizing, site and network strategy, competitive benchmarking, and growth planning.

In this role, you’ll manage 20–30 new accounts per month across practices, offices, and firm sizes. You’ll partner with partners, principals, engagement managers, knowledge and research leaders, and data and analytics centers of excellence to put Placer at the center of their client work. When fully ramped, you’ll be expected to handle 30+ meetings per week while maintaining a clean pipeline and an accurate forecast.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sell into consulting firms through complex, multi-threaded cycles involving practice leaders, engagement teams, knowledge and research functions, data and analytics leaders, and procurement.
  • Position Placer against high-value consulting use cases: commercial due diligence (often PE-backed), market entry and sizing, retail and real estate network optimization, competitive and share-of-visits analysis, and turnaround work.
  • Run both deal motions. For fast project-based deals, land quickly when an engagement team needs data this week. For enterprise and firmwide agreements, expand from one practice or office into many.
  • Work through consulting-specific commercial considerations, such as data licensing and usage rights in client deliverables, confidentiality, and firm-level procurement and security reviews.
  • Develop and manage your own pipeline (4x monthly sales target), moving a large number of transactions through the sales pipeline.
  • Demo Placer’s platform in the language of consulting work, tying insights to slides, models, and client recommendations. Work closely with Solutions Engineering, Customer Success, and Partnerships.
  • Complete 20+ new demos of Placer’s platform per month.
  • Build relationships across the consulting ecosystem, including alumni networks, PE sponsors, and industry events, so you’re the first call when a new engagement kicks off.
  • Achieve and consistently exceed monthly sales goals.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/BS or similar college-level education.
  • 5+ years selling in the B2B software or data space.
  • Experience selling data, research, or analytics products to management consulting, professional services, or financial services firms. Examples include alternative data, market intelligence, survey or panel data, and expert networks.
  • Understanding of how consulting firms buy and use data: engagement-driven urgency, partner-led decision making, centralized knowledge and research teams, and procurement and licensing constraints.
  • Mastery of Command of the Message, MEDDPICC, and/or other strategic sales methodologies and processes.
  • Experience working with G-Suite: Gmail, Google Slides, Sheets, etc.
  • Advanced understanding of working with SFDC or a relevant CRM.
  • Excellent, clear verbal and non-verbal communication skills, with credibility in front of senior consultants and partners.
  • A positive attitude and a selfless approach to teamwork.
  • Prior consulting, due diligence, or investment experience is a strong plus. So is knowledge of retail, real estate, private equity, or CPG.
  • A proven “problem solver” with the ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-growing startup organization.
  • Travel is required up to 10% of the time for conferences and customer meetings.

NICE TO HAVES:

  • Demonstrated use of AI tools to work more efficiently—whether professionally or personally—and a curiosity for finding new ways to apply them.
  • Comfort integrating generative AI into day-to-day workflows to boost productivity, quality, and output.
