Impact of a Director, Product-Led Growth

As Director, PLG, you’ll lead the strategy, execution, and commercial success of Upsun’s product-led revenue engine. Upsun is expanding its portfolio with Upsun Dispatch, a strategic new offer that joins Upsun Cloud, and this role will turn that expansion into measurable growth. 

Reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer, you will own the revenue target for product-led experiences, building a scalable engine across developer recruitment, freemium conversion, and customer retention. Working at the intersection of Marketing, Product Management, and Engineering, you will bridge technical platform capabilities with market-driven execution to scale Upsun’s global footprint. 

What to expect

  • Own product-led revenue: Be accountable for ARR from self-serve experiences, from first signup through conversion, expansion, and retention. 

  • Drive growth goals: Build and execute PLG programs to achieve clear top-line ARR milestones and hit aggressive user acquisition targets with specific focus in Europe and North America.  

  • Connect growth and product: Partner closely with the Head of Growth (Marketing), Head of User Acquisition and Conversion (Marketing)  and Upsun Dispatch Product Managers (Product/Engineering) to translate product strategy into measurable customer and business outcomes.  

  • Optimize the funnel: Define in-product monetization levers, optimize self-service funnels, and partner with Sales to refine Product-Led Sales (PLS) handoffs for enterprise accounts.  

  • Build tight feedback loops: Analyze intent data, user behavior, and churn metrics to continuously iterate on user onboarding, NPS, and lifetime value.  

What you bring

  • PLG and growth leadership: A track record as a Senior Product Manager or Director with growth and commercial revenue responsibilities at a developer-focused, SaaS, or cloud platform company driven primarily by a PLG model.  

  • Strategic judgment: Ability to turn complex developer platform capabilities into intuitive self-service user experiences that drive clear, measurable business value.  

  • Cross-functional execution: A record of leading cross-functional growth initiatives across Marketing, Product Management, and Engineering.

  • Data-driven approach: Hands-on depth in growth analytics, conversion funnels, freemium-to-paid activation, and retention.

  • Developer and AI fluency: Practical understanding of modern developer workflows, cloud infrastructure, and how AI-assisted development tools are reshaping user expectations.  

Bonus points

  • Dual-funnel experience: Running both self-serve funnels (PLG) and enterprise sales handoffs (PLS).

  • Platform background: Cloud infrastructure, PaaS, DevOps, or developer platforms.

  • Global scale: Scaling product-led revenue across remote-first, international teams.
