We are seeking a motivated and curious AI Intern (Statistical Programming Focus) to join our team for the May 2026 semester (May - August 2026). In this role, you will contribute to the development of internal workflows and tooling that help modernize analytical codebases across SAS, R, and Python, with a particular focus on using AI-assisted development tools to improve translation, testing, and workflow efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design, testing, and improvement of internal workflows and tools that support translation and modernization of analytical code across SAS, R, and Python.
  • Analyze existing SAS programs to understand business logic, statistical methods, data transformations, and workflow structure, and support accurate translation into modern programming environments.
  • Assist in designing, testing, and deploying AI-assisted and agentic workflows for internal projects, with potential exposure to client-facing use cases over time.
  • Follow Git-based development practices and contribute to CI/CD workflows that support testing, deployment, and ongoing improvement of internal tools and automation pipelines.
  • Participate in testing, troubleshooting, debugging, and refining workflow performance, translated code quality, and overall usability of internal solutions.
  • Collaborate with senior consultants to document and standardize development processes, translation approaches, and workflow design patterns.
  • Contribute knowledge sharing through presentations, demos, documentation, or internal walkthroughs.

What You Bring

  • Currently enrolled in a university program in Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in SAS is required. You must be comfortable reading, understanding, and working with existing SAS programs independently. Familiarity with common statistical modelling is expected.
  • Working knowledge of R or Python is preferred; familiarity with both is an asset.
  • Interest in statistical programming, workflow automation, code modernization, and practical applications of AI in software development.
  • Familiarity with Git, version control best practices, and CI/CD development workflows are an asset.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar tools is strongly preferred.
  • Exposure to LLMs, prompt-based development, automation frameworks, or orchestration tools is an asset.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work through ambiguity in a hands-on technical environment.
  • Exposure to front-end languages such as TypeScript and Node.js is nice-to-have.
  • Interest in building internal tools and gaining exposure to the product development lifecycle, from problem framing and prototyping to testing, iteration, and documentation.
  • Comfort with technical writing – documenting code, workflows, or processes
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
