New

NPI Test Engineer

Singapore

PsiQuantum's mission is to build the first useful quantum computers: machines capable of delivering the breakthroughs the field has long promised. Since our founding in 2016, our singular focus has been to build and deploy million-qubit, fault-tolerant quantum systems.

Quantum computers harness the laws of quantum mechanics to solve problems that even the most advanced supercomputers or AI systems will never reach. Their impact will span energy, pharmaceuticals, finance, agriculture, transportation, materials, and other foundational industries.

Our architecture and approach is based on silicon photonics. By leveraging the advanced semiconductor manufacturing industry, including partners like GlobalFoundries, we use the same high-volume processes that already produce billions of chips for telecom and consumer electronics. Photonics offers natural advantages for scale: photons don't feel heat, are immune to electromagnetic interference, and integrate with existing cryogenic cooling and standard fiber-optic infrastructure.

That approach has since been tested at the highest level of scrutiny the U.S. government applies to emerging technology, and it has held up. In 2025, PsiQuantum closed a $1 billion funding round that valued the company at $7 billion. In 2026, the U.S. Department of Commerce signed a $100 million Letter of Intent under the CHIPS and Science Act, followed by a $125 million agreement with DARPA under Stage C of its Quantum Benchmarking Initiative, PsiQuantum's most valuable U.S. government agreement to date. This year, we also broke ground on our utility-scale quantum computer in Brisbane, Australia, and continued building out our Chicago site. Victor Peng, our CEO, and co-founder Jeremy O'Brien, now Executive Chairman, lead a team and board that reflects how seriously the world is taking this build, joined this year by Intel's Lip-Bu Tan and Atomico's Niklas Zennström.

PsiQuantum also develops the algorithms and software needed to make these systems commercially valuable. Our application, software, and industry teams work directly with leading Fortune 500 companies, including Airbus, Lockheed Martin, Mercedes-Benz, Boehringer Ingelheim, and Mitsubishi Chemical, to prepare quantum solutions for real-world impact.

Quantum computing is not an extension of classical computing. It represents a fundamental shift, and a path to mastering challenges that cannot be solved any other way. The potential is enormous, and we now have the funding, the government validation, and the sites under construction to make it real.

Job Summary:

We're seeking an NPI Test Engineer to define how product quality is verified and protected throughout the manufacturing lifecycle. This role owns manufacturing test strategy, production test architecture, test coverage, deployment, and optimization across global manufacturing locations — working at the intersection of hardware, software, manufacturing, quality, operations, and suppliers. Unlike development validation roles that prove a design works, this role focuses on enabling scalable manufacturing: understanding product failure modes, developing efficient screening approaches, and implementing test solutions that support global production at commercial scale.

Responsibilities:

  • Define manufacturing test strategy — production screening philosophies, test coverage requirements, release criteria, and critical failure modes.
  • Develop manufacturing test solutions: test fixtures, automated test equipment, production test software, diagnostics, and calibration methodologies that are scalable and globally deployable.
  • Lead deployment of test systems across supplier and CM environments — station qualification, readiness assessments, operator training, and production support.
  • Continuously improve test effectiveness — reduce false failures and cycle time, enhance coverage, and drive cost-of-test reduction.
  • Develop diagnostics that support fault isolation, correlate test results with failure modes, and support root-cause investigations.
  • Build manufacturing intelligence from test data — yield trends, failure Pareto reviews, correlation studies, and operational reporting.
  • Support production ramp through EVT/DVT/PVT and launch: monitor performance, troubleshoot, and drive corrective actions.
  • Partner with Contract Manufacturers, Product/Process/Quality/Software Engineering, and automation/equipment suppliers — influencing outcomes without direct authority.

What Success Looks Like

  • First 6 months: Develop a strong understanding of product architectures and manufacturing workflows, build relationships with manufacturing partners, and assess manufacturing test performance.
  • First year: Manufacturing test systems successfully deployed globally, coverage targets achieved, escape and false-failure rates improved, and production ramp objectives achieved.
  • Long-term: Manufacturing test becomes a competitive advantage, test architectures scale with product complexity, and quality risks are detected early.

Experience/Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of Test Engineering experience.
  • Experience with automated manufacturing test systems.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree; semiconductor, photonics, or automation experience.
  • Python, LabVIEW, or equivalent software development; manufacturing analytics or reliability testing experience.

Race & Ethnicity Definitions

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

A "recently separated veteran" means any veteran during the three-year period beginning on the date of such veteran's discharge or release from active duty in the U.S. military, ground, naval, or air service.

An "active duty wartime or campaign badge veteran" means a veteran who served on active duty in the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service during a war, or in a campaign or expedition for which a campaign badge has been authorized under the laws administered by the Department of Defense.

An "Armed forces service medal veteran" means a veteran who, while serving on active duty in the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service, participated in a United States military operation for which an Armed Forces service medal was awarded pursuant to Executive Order 12985.
