About the Team: 

As Director of Physical Security & Facility Security Officer (FSO), you will build and lead Relativity's enterprise security organization, protecting personnel, critical assets and data, and classified information across all facilities. This role uniquely combines strategic executive leadership with deep regulatory expertise and execution. You'll serve as our designated FSO while simultaneously architecting and scaling a world-class physical security program. You will establish the security infrastructure for all future expansion, define enterprise standards and policies, and build the systems and teams that enable secure operations at hypergrowth scale. This is a transformational leadership role that demands both strategic vision and operational excellence.

About the Role: 25% travel to our other sites

  • Serve as Relativity's designated Facility Security Officer (FSO) with active TS/SCI clearance, owning all facility clearance requirements, DD254 management, and serving as primary interface with DCSA and government security agencies for classified program compliance.
  • Develop and execute the enterprise physical security strategy aligned with NISPOM (32 CFR Part 117), ICD 705, and export control regulations, including multi-year roadmaps for program maturity, risk management, and scalability across all current and future facilities.
  • Build and lead the physical security organization including site security operations, security engineering/systems, investigations, front desk operations, and contracted guard force management, establishing clear roles, career pathways, and training programs for all security personnel. 
  • Establish and maintain 24/7/365 security operations, including command structure, escalation protocols, incident response, investigations, and insider threat programs, ensuring physical protection of personnel, property, and controlled/classified information.
  • Drive regulatory compliance and audit readiness for NISPOM and classified program requirements, including personnel access controls, visitor management, foreign national protocols, classified information handling, and continuous preparation for DCSA and government security agencies. 
  • Partner strategically with executive leadership, EHS, Cybersecurity, Legal, People, and Facilities to integrate security requirements into business operations, personnel actions, construction projects, and emergency response plans, while serving as primary security advisor to the company.

About You:

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance and current FSO certification with demonstrated experience managing facility clearances and interfacing with DCSA and government security agencies.
  • 10+ years of progressive physical security experience, including at least 5 years in leadership roles building and scaling security programs, with 2+ years as a FSO. 
  • Deep expertise in NISPOM (32 CFR Part 117), ICD 705, and classified program security requirements, with proven track record of successful government audits and regulatory compliance. 
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise security operations including access control systems (e.g., Lenel), CCTV/VMS, intrusion detection, and visitor management platforms, with technical knowledge to drive security systems architecture and integration.
  • Proven ability to build and lead high-performing security organizations, including direct team management and oversight of contracted security services, with experience establishing training programs, performance standards, and operational excellence. 
  • Executive presence with demonstrated ability to influence and advise , present complex security and risk topics to non-technical audiences, and drive cross-functional strategic initiatives.

Nice to haves but not required:  

  • Professional security certifications such as CPP (Certified Protection Professional), PSP (Physical Security Professional), or equivalent industry credentials.
  • Aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturing experience with exposure to SCIF, SAP, or other compartmented program security requirements. 
  • Experience managing large security budgets (both CAPEX and OPEX) and leading major capital security projects for new construction or facility expansions.

Hiring Range:

$163,000 - $245,000 USD
