Medical Information Intern
Job Summary
The Medical Information Intern (contract) will be primarily responsible for conducting in-depth literature searches using PubMed, reading and understanding medical literature, and writing and updating medical response documents, FAQs, and other response documents used in responding to medical information requests. This position will require 10-12 hours/week at the office in Nashville, TN.
Reports to: Associate Director, Medical Information
Location: Nashville, TN - onsite
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and update product-related standard response letters and FAQs to be used in responding to medical information requests.
- Effectively search and interpret the published medical literature and relevant in-house documents for the company’s products, and formulate available information into appropriate responses (written and verbal).
Required Skills and Experience:
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of drug development, regulatory approval processes, clinical trial methodologies, and guidelines.
- Be able to execute effective literature searches.
- Team oriented with excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to develop and maintain effective professional relationships.
- Detail oriented.
- Ability to develop project strategies and execute project details.
- Highly developed problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work independently and within teams.
- Strong organizational skills.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Prior medical writing experience.
- Pharmacy student P3 preferred, or PhD student who has passed qualifying exams.
