Project Manager, Scientific Affairs
Job Summary:
The Project Manager, Scientific Affairs will serve as a bridge between scientific strategy and operational execution. The Project Manager will lead cross-functional initiatives that support clinical studies, formulations, and bioscience innovation. This role demands communication and curiosity to learn more about each program and share all relevant information with department leadership and, as applicable, cross-functional company leadership.
Reporting to: Chief Innovation Officer
Location: Johnson City, TN - hybrid
Responsibilities/Essential Duties:
- Manage communication, timelines, budget, and overall status of assigned projects, to include any requested deliverables and coordination across departments. Serve as main hub of communication with Chief Innovation Officer and remaining R&D team, to include formulations team, clinical team, bioscience team, and other leadership as applicable.
- Liaise with clinical, regulatory, marketing, and external partners to ensure all parties are aligned strategically. Coordinate with upstream marketing representative to ensure scientific efforts align with the overall marketing strategy and vice versa.
- Maintain running list of all applicable tasks ongoing and completed within the Scientific Affairs department.
- Oversee creation and review of various slide decks for both internal and external audiences; track completion and status of whitepapers and scientific publications as applicable.
- Assist as a team player where needed; maintain accurate documentation of project/program status at all times and be willing to work outside your normal line of work to ensure the job is completed on time and within the right scope and budget.
- Communicate daily with team, encourage and drive teams to perform various experiments and tasks on time.
- Synch with other company project managers to ensure scientific affairs duties for new product development (NPD) programs are feasible, on time, and complete to standard.
- Domestic travel up to 10%.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree & 2+ years’ directly related experience; OR
- Associate’s degree & 6+ years’ directly related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline.
- 2-4 years’ directly related experience.
- Scientific background.
- Highly detailed, curious to learn, a clear communicator, and highly organized.
- Familiarity with MS Office programs and ability to learn; experience with project tracking systems such as MS Project, Smartsheet, or the like.
- Ability to multitask among various priorities.
- Experience in consumer product, medical device, pharmaceutical development, and/or manufacturing environment.
