JOB SUMMARY

The National Account Director is a field leadership role responsible for executing strategies to secure, enhance and maintain optimal access for the Revance Therapeutics brands in the payer space.

This role must possess a strong understanding of the complex and evolving US reimbursement and pricing landscape, including reimbursement trends, private and government payer perspectives, and healthcare policy. The National Account Director will also demonstrate a high level of business acumen and expertise across market access fundamentals with a successful track record in engaging and contracting with payers while leveraging established relationships. 

The National Account Director will lead all managed markets activities within assigned national and other relevant accounts which could include regional payors (commercial and Medicare), specialty pharmacies, PBMs, State Medicaid, Medical groups and other healthcare intermediaries. This role will present value propositions, provide insights to achieve strategic goals across all accounts in the assigned market and lead contract negotiations. This role will also provide market insights to the brand team and work collaboratively with both field-based teams and internal stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Develop and execute innovative market access strategies incorporated into Strategic Account Plans to secure unencumbered access to Revance Therapeutic products.
  • Responsible for gaining and applying a deep understating of relevant markets, business models, strategic priorities, future direction, financial drivers and leadership profiles of key customers, includes understanding and engaging in key local and national, health care issues/strategies, customer issues/trends, pathway and quality trends and best practices to establish credibility beyond product and therapeutic areas.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration with Sales, Market Access, Legal, Medical, Marketing, Finance, and Patient Services on a routine basis to ensure alignment in a fast-paced matrix environment and around operational issues for expedited resolution and to achieve organizational goals.
  • Provide leadership and insights that lead to strong relationships and the development of appropriate business strategies that support brand(s) objectives in key accounts.
  • When engaging in business-to-business discussions with qualified stakeholders, utilize approved resources such as FDAMA 114 material, potential contract performance updates, and value and access resources, where appropriate.
  • Provide strategic direction to field reimbursement leadership to deliver the highest level of reimbursement support and payer coverage to ensure maximum access.
  • Conduct quarterly business reviews with key decision makers within aligned accounts in order to uncover business opportunities and solidify partnership across organizations.
  • Partner with the patient services team to ensure quality, efficiencies, and performance in delivering operational excellence and meeting Revance Therapeutics standards to ensure patient initiation and support of ongoing treatment.
  • Represents Revance Therapeutics at trade functions, conventions, and educational programs to engage with customer base and strengthen relationships (e.g., Asembia, AMCP, PCMA, AHIP, NASP, etc.).
  • Ensure all activities remain in compliance with all corporate, regulatory, and legal guidelines.

EDUCATION

Minimum required:

  • BS degree in Business, Marketing, Finance or related field.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE

  • At least 15 years of account management experience or other Managed Markets experience is preferred.
  • Experience working in channels such as large Payers, national and regional health plans, state and local governments, PBM's, SPP's and Physician Medical Groups.
  • Prior experience with director and senior level health plan executives within the assigned geographical area preferred.
  • Solid understanding of key public and private Payer policy infrastructure, payment methodologies, coverage, health policy trends and current business challenges.
  • Commercial launch experience in securing optimal coverage for specialty products managed under the medical benefit with a buy-and bill reimbursement model preferred.
