Office Facility G&A Day Porter
Job Summary:
The Office Facility G&A Day Porter is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, organized, and professional office environment throughout the business day. This position performs daily janitorial and housekeeping activities across office common areas, conference rooms, breakrooms, kitchens, restrooms, and shared spaces. The ideal candidate is dependable, proactive, detail-oriented, and takes pride in providing a high standard of cleanliness and service to employees, visitors, and guests.
Reporting to: Sr. Manager, Corporate Facilities & Services
Location: Newark, CA - onsite
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 11:30am - 8:00pm
Pay Rate: $25.00 - $27.00/hr *
* Hourly rate dependent on experience
Responsibilities/Essential Duties:
Office Janitorial & Cleaning:
- Perform daily cleaning of office common areas, conference rooms, kitchens, breakrooms, restrooms, and shared spaces.
- Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, wipe, and disinfect surfaces as needed.
- Maintain high-touch and high-traffic areas throughout the day.
- Empty trash and recycling and replace liners as needed.
- Respond promptly to spills and unexpected cleaning needs.
- Conduct routine walkthroughs to identify and address cleanliness concerns.
- Keep conference rooms and collaboration spaces clean, organized, and presentation-ready.
- Maintain restrooms by cleaning, disinfecting, and replenishing supplies.
- Follow established cleaning schedules, checklists, and facility procedures.
Pantry, Snack & Beverage Management:
- Restock snacks, beverages, coffee stations, and pantry supplies.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of pantry and kitchen areas.
- Clean and maintain refrigerators, microwaves, coffee machines, and other shared kitchen equipment.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs.
- Perform scheduled refrigerator clean-outs and dispose of expired or abandoned items.
Facility & Workplace Support:
- Assist with office moves, meeting setups, events, furniture adjustments, and special cleaning projects.
- Report maintenance, safety, or facility concerns to Corporate Facilities & Services.
- Assist vendors and service providers while onsite as needed.
- Perform basic facility tasks when trained and authorized.
Skills & Experience:
- Previous janitorial, commercial cleaning, housekeeping, or hospitality experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Professional and customer-service-oriented demeanor.
- Basic communication skills required to understand work instructions and safety procedures.
- Flexibility to support occasional overtime or adjusted schedules based on business needs.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform cleaning duties throughout the scheduled shift.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, and crouching.
- Ability to safely operate standard cleaning equipment.
- Must maintain appropriate personal hygiene and a professional appearance.
