Senior Copywriter

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Creative Studio Director, the Senior Copywriter will write content and help develop concepts for their assigned brand(s). The position is 100% hands-on and involves taking projects from creative brief to on-strategy, creatively fresh execution with their art/design partner. While detailed-oriented and able to craft clear, concise copy, the Senior Copywriter will also bring strategic insights and best practices per media to their work, emerging as a content expert for the team and brand partners.

Responsibilities/Essential Duties:

  • Write content in good form (clear of errors, grammatically correct, concise with necessary legal and safety requirements) for social, print, digital, video and events
  • Takes direction from the Associate Creative Director, Copy to refine and elevate their work
  • Partners with a designer, art director, motion graphics designer, or video editor on projects. Understands creative strategy for each piece—can envision the space that content will live in (specs, multiple pages, several frames, etc.) and knows how to bucket content with art suggestions for an effective story flow
  • Transforms marketing messages and strategies into well-crafted copy that’s optimized for each channel (social, in-office, rep-delivered, email)
  • Helps concept cross-channel campaigns and programs with the creative team that are on strategy, on brief, and on brand
  • References and annotates materials for PRC/MLR review with minimal intervention from supervisor
  • Attends and participates in PRC/MLR meetings, providing helpful suggestions and negotiations
  • Helps write and maintains Brand Core Claims documents under the supervision of the ACD, Copy and Copy Editor/Proofreader
  • Brainstorms names for programs and promotions
  • Proactively manages their workload and communicates with team about projects
  • Showcases an always-on curiosity and stays up to date on healthcare industry trends
  • Develops content expertise—demonstrating insights into the product science, product differentiation, audiences, and category (medical aesthetics, skincare, beauty, and competitive products)
  • Effectively presents work to internal team and brand partners; able to think quickly to respond to feedback and suggestions
  • Ability to onboard other brands outside lead brand to support ACD, Copy with projects, as needed
  • Works closely with Project Manager to make sure workload and timing are balanced—ensuring tasks are completed on-time
  • Works closely with Account Executive for brand needs, questions, suggestions—helping to create a productive relationship with brand partners
  • Works closely with Proofreader/Editor to uphold style and brand guidelines

Education:

  • Minimum Required:
    • BA or higher in English, Journalism, or communications-related field
  • Preferred:
    • BA in English, Journalism, or related communications-related field

Basic Qualifications:

  • ≥5-7 years’ experience writing for an ad agency or in-house creative/marketing department; ≥3 years’ experience writing for healthcare, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and injectables (specifically dermal HA fillers or biostimulator). Filler product experience preferred.
  • A strong portfolio showing fresh creative writing skills that includes integrated B2B and B2B2C creative campaigns for HCPs and patients.
  • Expert in MS Office applications: Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Previous experience running projects through project management platforms like Monday.com, Asana, or Social Bridge
  • Previous experience with routing platforms like Ziflow—ability to respond to comments in real-time and resolve issues with internal team and brand partners
  • Familiarity with Figma a plus
