Campaign Marketing Specialist

USA - Remote

Posit’s mission is to create open-source software for data science, scientific research, and technical communication. We do this to enhance the production and consumption of knowledge by everyone, regardless of economic means. We believe code-first, open-source data science is the foundation of much scientific advancement in the future.

Posit (formerly RStudio) was founded in 2009 with the vision of creating high-quality open-source software for data scientists. We’ve grown exponentially over time, but our culture remains unchanged. We invest heavily in open-source development, education, and the community with the goal of serving knowledge creators 100 years from now.

To advance our company mission and ensure we’re building a company that can serve knowledge creators 100 years from now, we’re looking for a curious, ambitious, and strategic Campaign Marketing Specialist to join the Growth Marketing team at Posit and report to the Senior Campaign Marketing Manager.

The Growth Marketing Team at Posit is responsible for generating high-quality interest in our professional products and key partnerships, ultimately leading to revenue growth for Posit. We’re focused on ensuring that all of our work amplifies the value our products bring to the data science community.

The Campaign Marketing Specialist at Posit will shepherd campaign activities related to our key cloud partnerships (Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, Google, and Microsoft) and our emerging Cloud products (Connect Cloud). This role will be key in ensuring campaign activities are delivered on time, align with our campaign objectives, and drive demand within our Ideal Customer Profile (ICP).

What You'll Own:

  • You will own the execution (creation, management, and delivery) of campaign activities across core channels (organic and paid social media, online events, email, direct mail, web, video, blog, digital content, and influencer partnerships).
  • You will identify content that is needed to effectively execute our demand generation campaigns.
  • You will own internal communication channels to create transparency across marketing campaigns and increase sales and marketing collaboration.
  • You will own the feedback loop for our demand generation campaigns, guiding future areas of investment and team learning regarding what is driving revenue.

What You'll Assist With:

  • Outlining the campaign strategy, objectives, goals, and timeline for our core demand generations campaigns alongside the Sr. Campaign Manager.
  • Identifying what our target audience needs to know about our professional products and strategic narratives – working closely with our Product Marketing team and internal subject matter experts.
  • Reaching our target market digitally with content they find valuable, working with our Product Marketing and Creative team.
  • Ensuring campaign activities and progress are documented to ensure clarity in the execution phase of all programs.
  • Understanding the impact our demand generation campaigns have on revenue, working with our data scientists and revenue ops teams.

What You'll Teach:

  • You should be great at communicating campaign plans and effectiveness to necessary stakeholders, guiding decisions, and future areas of investment.
  • You should be excellent at executing integrated marketing programs. Ensuring campaign plans are clear, timelines are realistic, and delivery is seamless.
  • You should have a strong understanding of core marketing channels, including organic and paid social media, online events, email, direct mail, web, video, digital content, and influencer partnerships.
  • You should be an excellent copywriter. You know how to take complex topics and translate them into clear messages that drive action.

What You'll Learn:

  • Project management tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce, CommonRoom, 6sense, and using AI tools for marketing work (NotebookLM, Gemini, ChatGPT).
  • Digital marketing experience is a plus. Specifically, experience with LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Bluesky, and TikTok will be useful.
  • Knowledge of the data science and open-source software ecosystem.

Within 1 month, you’ll…

  • Learn and commit to memory our ideal customer profile (ICP).
  • Meet with our product marketing team to learn about our key industries and product landscape, our campaign managers to learn our core campaign strategies, our event marketing team to learn about our in-person event strategy, and our customer marketing team to learn about the Posit community.
  • Onboard to our marketing and company technology stack.

Within 3 months, you’ll…

  • Continue to learn! Meet with our product marketing team, product managers, and customers to establish foundational knowledge.
  • Develop, manage, and launch one new marketing program to support our partnership campaign.
  • Own updating internal stakeholders on campaign activities and performance via internal communications channels (Confluence, Slack, and Jira).
  • Be an active participant in planning our campaign activities for the upcoming quarter.

Within 6 months, you’ll…

  • Execute one new marketing program to support each of our three ongoing partnership campaigns (Databricks, Snowflake, and AWS).
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on campaign management for our partnership campaigns, regularly working with cross-functional teams to include Sales, Customer Success, and Product Management.
  • Define a content and marketing activities requirements list so we can successfully support our demand generation campaigns within the next six months.
  • Think about where we need to take the campaigns next. Perform a gap analysis to identify where the campaigns are strong and where they need to improve.
  • Report on campaign performance to the marketing team and cross-functional stakeholders.

Within 12 months, you’ll…

  • Refine and refresh marketing programs in-market supporting our partnership campaigns.
  • Fully owns one of Posit’s core demand generation campaigns, shepherding strategy, execution, and reporting.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of our demand generation campaigns, understanding their impact on revenue.

What you’ll bring:

  • Some marketing experience, preferably in campaign management.
  • Experience executing integrated marketing campaigns that are tied to revenue outcomes.
  • Ability to partner and inspire cross-functional teams to bring creative marketing programs to life.
  • Curiosity about new and emerging marketing channels with the ability to experiment and learn quickly.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills – you ensure campaign activities are well documented and socialized internally.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
