Innovation Analyst (Home Inspection Optimization)
Overview:
If you're looking for the stability of a profitable, growing company with the entrepreneurial spirit of a startup, we’re hiring. SageSure, a leader in catastrophe-exposed property insurance, is seeking an Innovation Product Analyst on our Home Services team. Property inspections are a critical data source for several key business functions such as Home Services, Catastrophe Risk, and Underwriting. Additionally, advancements in inspection technology, like drone imagery and emerging third-party datasets offer growing opportunities that can be leveraged to improve the quality and scope of inspection data. In this role, you will be focused on inspection data analysis, transformation, curation, and visualization to derive insights that shape SageSure’s inspection strategy. These insights will further SageSure's commitment to assisting policyholders in home maintenance, bolstering their confidence in homeownership, and mitigating unforeseen damages and costs.
What you’d be doing:
- Transform, analyze, and visualize a wide array of inspection data streams, including third-party vendor data, to explore potential strategic partnerships for inspection data collection.
- Develop, communicate, and implement a comprehensive inspection strategy for SageSure, considering both near-term and long-term objectives.
- Conduct ad hoc data analyses to support the development of new business opportunities for SageSure Home Services, including revenue generation beyond conventional home insurance boundaries.
- Investigate bulk and individual claims data to identify key knowledge gaps in current inspection protocols and opportunity areas for loss mitigation through home services offerings.
- Collaborate with internal teams, such as Software, Data Management, Underwriting, and external stakeholders to execute initiatives and manage partner relationships.
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Master’s degree or higher in engineering or related discipline with strong understanding of typical home systems (e.g., structural, mechanical, electrical).
- Proficiency in common statistical data analysis and modeling techniques and/or experience with tools Python, R, SQL, Zapier, etc.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to apply critical thinking across various disciplines.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
Highly preferred candidates also have:
- Doctoral degree in engineering or a related discipline.
- Prior experience working within a P&C insurance company or entity serving the insurance industry.
- Prior working experience within a home service-related role.
