What does a Strategy Director Do?

The Strategy Director will be responsible for conceptualizing, launching, and scaling Sercante’s strategy consulting practice. This leader will combine a deep understanding of technology with strategic insights to deliver unparalleled value to our clients. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of consulting expertise, leadership acumen, and a knack for fostering client relationships.

The Strategy Director will guide Sercante clients through strategic planning across their marketing, sales and service functions and advise on ways to align technology with business goals.  The Strategy Director will support client roadmapping and help ensure investments in technology deliver value and are matched by necessary changes in people and business processes. 

The Strategy Director is also responsible for shaping Sercante’s approach to strategic tech consulting.  They create frameworks, tools, and thought leadership that elevate how we advise clients and enable our internal teams to lead with confidence.  They collaborate with Sales, Product and Delivery leadership to drive pipeline growth, support pre-sales conversations and evolve our go-to-market strategy.

A Day-in-the-Life:

  • Leading strategic planning engagements across marketing, sales, and service — clarifying business goals and mapping them to platform capabilities
  • Guiding the creation of cross-cloud roadmaps, vision maps, and capability models to drive unified customer experiences
  • Supporting Sales in early-stage conversations, helping shape engagements that address multi-functional pain points
  • Building repeatable tools and templates to support strategic workshops, discovery sessions, and program planning
  • Partnering with Delivery teams to guide complex client programs and ensure alignment between business objectives and platform design
  • Monitoring emerging trends in digital engagement, AI, personalization, and customer lifecycle strategy
  • Training internal teams on strategic frameworks and consultative engagement techniques
  • Supporting the evolution of our strategic offerings, including services that span Marketing Cloud, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Data Cloud
  • Publishing thought leadership and presenting insights at industry events and webinars

A Successful Strategy Director will:

  • Have strong experience leading strategy across marketing, sales, and service teams, ideally within enterprise or high-growth organizations
  • Understand how Salesforce clouds and the broader martech stack work together to power full-funnel customer engagement
  • Ensure clients are ready to adopt emerging technologies by assessing business capabilities, growth goals, and aligning data, technology and process enhancements required to ensure a successful implementation
  • Be comfortable leading executive-level conversations and simplifying complex problems into actionable solutions
  • Embrace AI and automation to drive rapid business transformation and educate themselves on the newest technologies
  • Bring a consultative mindset and a strong ability to guide organizations through change and digital transformation
  • Possess experience in professional services, management consulting, or cross-functional strategy roles
  • Be passionate about helping teams collaborate more effectively and eliminate friction across the customer journey
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, client-focused environment and enjoy solving new problems with creative approaches
  • Have strong communication, facilitation, and storytelling skills that inspire confidence and alignment
  • Work independently and collaboratively, while mentoring others to think strategically and deliver with impact
  • Bonus points for managerial + people leadership experience -- while this role does not have direct reports on Day 1, this function may involve to include this responsibility

Who We're Looking For:

  • 10+ years in strategic consulting, technology advisory, or similar role.
  • Proven ability to grow and manage a practice, partnering across Sales and Delivery teams to drive growth outcomes.
  • Ability to design a North Star vision and then build a tactical plan to deliver value to the client in incremental releases.
  • Passionate about learning the latest AI capabilities and solutions.
  • Proven ability to grow and manage a practice, partnering across Sales and Delivery teams to drive growth outcomes.
  • Proven track record turning smaller strategic engagements into larger, multi-phased, multi-year client relationships.
  • Familiarity with marketing automation, CRM systems, and sales enablement tools.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce and other marketing automation, sales CRM and service tools.
  • Ability to connect technical capabilities with business outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to execute tactical plans effectively.
  • Comfortable with ideating and presenting technology-driven solutions to stakeholders.
  • A collaborative and entrepreneurial spirit that thrives on building bridges between teams and organizations.
